The Good and The Bad February 18, 2008

This was one of my first cookware purchases and I got it because I've always heard Calphalon mentioned as a good quality brand. I figured with loads of recipes calling for one I might as well buy one! I got this one and I must say, I'm happy with it.

While it may not be the same quality of the calphalon pans I've heard all about, it's a decent dutch oven and a lot better than some of the cheap alternatives.

Pros: cleans easily, cooks nicely, has covers on the handles, nice looking, matches my non-calphalon anodized cookware, looks as nice as when I bought it

I've following the manufacturers recommendations and it's still looking nice - no metal utensils, keep it out of the dishwasher, let it cool and then clean it right away, be cautious of the sponge you use, place some hot water inside to let it soak a few if there is foot on the bottom

I bought this pot for my daughter at Christmas and she loves it. She has made rice and stews in it and has raved about the difference a good Dutch Oven makes in the final dish. It is heavy on the bottom and distibutes heat evenly. Easy to clean as well. We are very satisfied with this item and for this price
I plan on buying one for myself.

ORDERING FROM AMAZON WAS EASY AND THE PRODUCT ARRIVED WELL PACKED AND UNDAMAGED BEFORE CHRISTMAS AS PROMISED!

THE PRODUCT PERFORMS AS CLAIMED. IT IS WELL BUILT. MY WIFE HAS USED IT SEVERAL TIMES AND SHE LOVES IT!

We bought this pot because in addition to all we lost during Hurricane Katrina, we lost all of our good pots and could not find just the right replacement. This pot is perfect, we love it. We will now start buying others of a similar nature. Again, we love this dutchoven
