5 out of 5 stars This machine is great   February 13, 2008

A very good machine for its price. This machine is compact and does it what it suppose to do.

4 out of 5 stars salton yogurt maker mostly good   February 8, 2008

I had fast delivery of the yogurt maker and it arrived intact. It is easy to use and makes very good yogurt. The self timer is really just a reminder for you that yogurt is finished at set time. There is no alarm so you still need to remember it. Also One of the glass containers broke for no apparent reason after the first use and I now need to use a half-pint jelly jar as the 7th jar. It actually works fine with saran wrap over the top. I've been using Dannon plain yogurt as a starter and it works OK but sometimes has slight lumps as you are not supposed to whisk your mixture. I have ordered some yogurt starter from the health food store and am eager to try as a comparison. Overall I like the Salton but can't quite give it 5 stars...

1 out of 5 stars cups break easily   January 29, 2008

This product did a good job making yogurt. However, after I made my first batch, one of the cups shattered in my hands as I was opening it. As another reviewer said, I'm a small person, and I manage to use glass items all the time w/o breaking them, so I don't think it's me. I have returned this item and ordered a different yogurt maker. I would not recommend this item because the cups break so easily.

I have been using this product for over a month now and I love it!. The yogurt comes out very creamy. It beats commercially made yogurts by a mile. The homemade yogurt does not have or taste rubbery. The directions are very easy to follow.

I have been very satisfied with this product.

4 out of 5 stars Very impressed   April 15, 2007

I have made 2 batches of yogurt with this machine using Yogurmet starter, which I bought at a local healthfood store, and whole organic milk. I followed the instructions on the yogurt starter and had no problems. The yogurt comes out very creamy and reminds me of Dannon with the fruit on the bottom, except I took fresh blueberries and strawberries cooked down with a little honey and placed the fruit with syrup on top. My only disappointment was that I paid $17 for expedited shipping and it took 4 days to receive it. I recieved a few other items that I ordered the same night by regular delivery 2 days earlier, but I am very happy with the machine.
