Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Standing on the shore and looking out at the sea, you see bands of color as the ocean gets deeper and deeper. This is the progression of color that makes up Ocean Breeze. Three ridges are sculpted into the rim of the dinnerware, each holding a single shade, creating a dramatic evolution of color. Whenever the family gathers for celebrations or you're entertaining friends at dinner, you can always use a few more place settings. This 16-piece set includes four each of: dinner plate, salad plate, rim soup bowl and mug. Pfaltzgraff's Ocean Breeze dinnerware collection features sculpted bands with oceanic color of blue and green. Many accessories available to match.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this stuff!   March 30, 2008

We are long time Pfalzgraff folks and have not had problems in the past, but this line is now being manufactured in China and quality has gone down the tubes. Within a few months, the glaze has cracked and the dishes are discolored. This stuff is garbage, and an embarassment to an American company.

1 out of 5 stars crazing and cracking of glaze   August 19, 2007
I have 4 sets of these and all 4 sets the glaze is cracking and moisture is getting into the dishes. They are made in China and this alone worries me with all the lead paint and other issue regarding made in China. Customer service at Pfaltzgraff is great but the product is not.

2 out of 5 stars These were the worst dishes I've ever owned   August 9, 2007

Although these dishes have a sturdy feel to them they chip rather easily. I have never had a set of dishes I liked less. I just received my new set of Fiestaware dishes and am happy to see these go. A big part of my problem is that they are stoneware and they get black marks all over them from coming in contact with metal utensils. I understand that you can purchase a special cleanser to remove these marks but why on earth do I want to put more chemicals on my dishes? I don't, so I didn't and they look terrible. Most of them are misshappen, which I guess is another feature of stoneware. Oh yeah, another thing about stoneware you can not soak them in water. They warn you about this in the instructions. Pfaltzgraff is also no longer made in the US. This is something to consider with all of the issues that have recently come up regarding imports from China.

If you are looking for an alternative I recommend Fiestaware dishes. They are US made and come in great colors they do not get black marks on them and they are LEAD-FREE. They are smooth and still have a bit of weight to them like the Pfaltzgraff, but are much nicer and stronger.

Bottom line, unless you like black marks or additional cleansers do not waste your money.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome set of dishes   April 10, 2007

This is a great set of dishes- They are sturdy and have a real great feel to them- not like some flimsy cheap dishes. The colors are nice too- My fiance picked them out and I actually am glad I listened!
