Delicately drawn flowers on a warm, buttery field give Albany an appealing tranquility. The blue used for the flowers and rim lies between navy and cobalt in tone, and provides a perfect contrast with the yellow border and white center of the plates and bowls. Updated with these colors for the modern market in 1999, Albany is based on Gloucester, one of Spode's earliest blue-and-white patterns.
