Founded in 1756, Europes's Riedel Crystal is the world's premier manufacturer of wine glasses. The Vinum Extreme series of glasses are machine-made of diamond-shaped 24 percent lead crystal. These glass shapes, with a unique angular look, dramatic oversized bowls, and extra-tall stems, were introduced in 1986 to support the increasingly dense consistency of wines. The design provides an exceptionally wide evaporation surface, thereby intensifying a wine's bouquet and silky texture.
