Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Enjoy fresh ground coffee without the lines at the coffee shop. This coffee grinder by Mr. Coffee makes grinding quick and efficient. A round stainless steel chamber grinds more evenly, and can hold enough beans for up to 12 cups of coffee. The deep lid allows for a clean and convenient transfer to your brewer, while a safety switch prevents operation unless the lid is properly secured. Hand wash lid in warm water; wipe bowl with clean dry towel. White: No. IDS55. Black: No. IDS57. Imported. 7-1/2Hx4" dia.

5 out of 5 stars Keeps going and going   December 2, 2007
I've had this exact grinder for about 7 or 8 years and have never had a problem with it. I'm looking at one now to give as a Christmas gift. No complaints here.

5 out of 5 stars Had It Six Years-Excellent Service   January 2, 2007
I have had my Mr. Coffee Grinder more than six years and use it at least once a day. I bought two. One is marked; For Coffee Only and the other is marked; For Spices Only. You get 'big chunks' if you don't grind it properly. My friend asked me to get her one for Christmas 2006. She sees me use mine all the time. Never had a problem with it ever. It's inexpensive but does the work. I highly recommend this product.

3 out of 5 stars Review of Mr. Coffee Grinder   October 28, 2006

I purchased this as a replacement for a friend's (which I dropped and broke). It's an adequate grinder, but not top of the line. The ground coffee particles range in size from powder to fairly big chunks. It gets the job done, but I'd consider spending the money for a better one with plate grinders rather than the food-processor-type blades. It's also difficult to clean.

4 out of 5 stars Good   January 19, 2006

I was giving one of these as a gift. I ended up using it a lot and really liked it. I used it to grind flax seeds, and various nuts mainly. It lasted about 1 year until it finally died. Overall its a good product, seemed to grind things with a good consistency as long as I shaked it around and stuff. Only fault I can find with it is that it can be awkward to clean. Since only the lid comes off, with the bowl being attached to the base.

3 out of 5 stars Fair Performer But Messy   March 2, 2005

I just tossed this grinder in the trash can after over 2 years of faithfull service. In fact it outlasted a $100+ Krups coffeemaker. I like my coffee ground very fine so the grounds would migrate from the cup down into the motor housing and then sift out through the vent in the bottom creating quite a mess on the countertop. This morning at 6am after making it's last pot of coffee I decided it was time to clean the coffee grounds from inside the grinder. Simple to do...un-plug, remove three little phillips screws, and dump the old coffee. Everything went as planned until I tried to get it back together. No matter how hard I tried I could not get the baseplate to line up with the motor and the screw holes and the wiring was in the way... so long story short I declared it a gonner. Goodbye old friend, you chewed up many a bag of Verona Blend.

Just got home from Target with the Mr Coffee BMX3. I've always wanted to try a burr grinder so I thought I'd give it a try. Of course I bought it before I read the reviews, which are about 50/50 love/hate. But, none of the other coffee grinders get completly glowing reports either, so what the heck.
