5 out of 5 stars Very Nice Chair   June 15, 2008
I looked everywhere for thsi classic Adirondack Chair. Amazon was the last place I looked, I was desperate and I found this chair and snapped it up.
This chair exceeded my expectations in all ways. It is well made, easy to put together and arrived in two days for $7 in shipping. The wood is beautiful with a very nice smooth hand.
I purchased one as a gift and will get another!

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful!   March 16, 2006

Oxford Gardens high quality product is worth a few extra dollars. This furniture is made from Vietnamese hardwood and stands up to weather and insects. Low cost pine and cedar furniture is much much lighter and less dense and needs oil and maintanance to last. I've also found Oxford Gardens customer service to be outstanding. It's a shame the prior reviewer didn't just call to have her chairs replaced or fixed.

5 out of 5 stars WOW..now that is sturdy!   May 28, 2003

These chairs, I bought 4, have the wieght that Adirondack Chairs SHOULD have! They are very heavy - so I am sure they will not ever blow away. The wood has a wonderful grain and smooth finish...best to teak oil them and then they'll look like a million bucks for a LONG time. The construction is tight and sturdy with durable bolts.... the assembly is a bit of a pain in the neck (it always is) BUT you will have them for a life so well worth the effort considering the quality and great price. Good sitting and proportion.

5 out of 5 stars Easy Assembly   December 31, 2002

I couldn't believe how easy it is to assemble this chair. All the pre-drill holes lined up nicely and the 14 screws goes in easily. I was able to assemble the entire chair in less than 5 minutes. Even faster than assembling a bookshelf.

Since it been raining outside, haven't had a chance to try it outdoor. But as a temperary indoor chair, it is quite relaxing sitting on it to watch tv.

5 out of 5 stars Chair designs come and go; this one endures   February 20, 2001

This chair will endure in more than one way; it's made of a very sturdy and durable wood (shorea.) With the judicious application of teak oil, the chair can weather anything (well, nearly anything. I'll be putting ours down in the cellar away from the snow.)

The style is classic, the arms wide, good for holding a cool drink as you enjoy a summer evening. And they look nice with teak benches. What's not to like?
