Two pairs of multi-purpose shears come in this Cook's Series set from Kitchenaid: a pair of black-handled, all-purpose kitchen shears, and a pair of red-handled, serrated utility shears. Both are constructed with strong, durable stainless-steel blades, and those on the utility shears are serrated for extra-gripping while cutting cardboard, plastic, and other tough materials. The symmetrical handles suit left- or right-handed users, and the color immediately identifies which is which. Kitchen Shears work as expected, but the utility ones not July 24, 2008

I've always trusted KitchenAid quality, but this time I'm kind of disappointed, I was under the impresion the utility shears that come with the kit would be very sturdy to do any job, I didn't even try any more than regular household jobs when the rivet started getting loose and we couldn't tighten it up back again... I'm not an expert fixing scissors but have an idea on what to do to get it fixed. Bad luck maybe.

So far so good, the scissors are both pretty sharp and it is nice to be able to have two sets handy for different purposes, that said the quality is also up to the standard I expect from a KitchenAid product.
