5 out of 5 stars great cutting board   February 28, 2006

It saves the table from hot pans, and the cutting on it is counter saving. It cleans better then the plastic boards.

5 out of 5 stars Nice feel - great quality - size just right for daily prep work   October 5, 2005

This board is a great value I think. Nice solid feel. It is getting a bad wrap for its size but it is big enough for most prep work. Also has 4 nice rubber tips on the bottom. It fits well in the top kitchen drawer ready to go unlike many bigger boards.

Brother of mine has many actors figures he likes lots play to.So I made him very happy when I bought this cutting board.I wanted to mmake a salad for mothers day thats why I bought it.As ather people sad it might be a lot slippery and whan I bought it I first tried to cut it on.But it sleeped on my foot and made me very unhappy.I was running up or down very unhappy but my brother become very happy because he took it down to his room and used it up for skathing park.So I think its a good board.I take one star out because they cut off a very beautiful birch tree to make this board and now my brother will see one birch less tree when he grows old.

Cheap, yes, namebrand, yes, but this cutting board splits apart, causing unhygenic gaps where food can accumulate. Look elwhere for better quality. not recommended.

5 out of 5 stars The last cutting-board you'll ever need!   March 7, 2005

I first moved to Tacoma Washington in 1977. The city itself was very nice, great place to raise a family, but I found the cutting-coard situation completely inadiquate. I hunted high and low, searching for a cutting-board suitable for the type of use I had in mind, to no avail. I actually bought a few of them, but found they all broke or cracked upon the first swing of the ax. Yes, I am a member of the growing school of all ax cooking. Nothing chops lamb chops like a 20 pound maul. Anyway, I went through several synthetic and wood boards before blessedly stumbling upon the Henckels here. I skeptically placed my thanksgiving turkey upon it, and gloomily took my ax in hand. Fully expecting disaster, I gave a mighty chop. To my utter surprise and glee, the turkey was cleanly cleaved and the board remained in one strong, firm peice. Now feeling empowered, I carved the whole turkey in this manner, with the board looking as good as new. And what's more, it was the best turkey I had ever tasted, and my guests agreed! The Henckel is truly a masterpeice cutting-board, working great for ax, chainsaw, gun, and knife cooking methods. The only problem was the disapointing owner's manual, which left much to be desired, coming in at a scant 3 pages. I had to call customer service to figure the thing out! Other than that, amazing!
