The set includes: 8- and 10-inch skillets, 1-1/2- and 3-quart covered saucepans, 3-1/2-quart covered sauté pan, and a 8-quart covered stockpot. 5 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Beautiful! and fun to cook with!   September 14, 2008

I love these! When I opened the box, it was like Christmas! they are so beautiful!

I've had for a month now and love to cook in them:
~ ease of use and clean up,
~ no scouring needed as others have posted,
~ if xtra care is needed, just soak for awhile.
After frying, if food is left on the bottom of the skillet, I just soak in water and when I return to clean up, the food has lifted off like a sheet. The one time I hard-burned on food/oil, right after cooking--as I used to do with all former pots/pans--I heated water in the pan, added baking soda, soaked, and it cleaned up well. As others have said, there can be some inside-the-pan discoloration, as with this high heat accident. Most times washing is a breeze, just a sponge & rinse; the water beads roll off for a fast dry. I store the set outside of cabinets as they are so beautiful and make my kitchen look pulled-together.

Stainless steel doesn't stir-fry well. Was considering the stir-fry that matches this set, but, because of the high fast heat cooking issue, I will pass. I'll need to get a traditional 'tho flat-bottomed Chinese stir-fryer for use with an electric range.

Was also going to purchase a 12" non-stick frying pan but don't need one since These Pans Do Not Stick with usual cooking, and there's No Non-stick Coating Toxicity issues. I make lovely omelets in these pans.

The only drawback I've experienced is the heating, the 1) heat pan well then add oil & begin cooking with 2) lower than usual heat, something I am still getting used to. Having an electric stove may also contribute to the need to retrain my cooking habits. I'm used to fast & hot wok-style cooking on a gas burner.

I only wish I had purchased one of the larger sets. If buying now, I would select one of them. A 12" skillet is nearly a necessity for regular cooking. I have purchased 2 additional pieces that I use often, the 12" every day pan which I can use as a 12" skillet, and the 5 1/2 qt. chef's pan. Have the universal steamer on my wish list for when it goes on sale and would love to get a Windsor pan for cooking milk-based things like custards, puddings, hot cocoa, but think I may just buy a real, professional-grade aluminum windsor pot at Smart & Final -- nothing difficult like milk ever stuck when I cooked with professional-grade aluminum pots in a restaurant.

As another wrote, which was helpful to me, I strongly suggest reading and adhering to the manual before using -- wash well in hot soapy water before first use and use lower heat than you would on other pans. It takes a bit of heating time before adding the oil to begin cooking. Other than that, they're very enjoyable to cook in, do go from heat to cold and back again (great lids 'tho wish all were glass), easy to clean and beautiful to look at!

1 out of 5 stars Can't stand them   September 13, 2008

I've owned these for a few months now. I can't figure out what you can cook with them that doesn't stick like crazy. You can cook on a low temperature with a 1/2" of oil or butter in the bottom of the frying pans, and yet food still sticks! You may be able to saute some veggies in oil, but forget browning potatoes (they will end up mashed), and don't even try eggs... they are a disaster. I don't want to be an "artist", I just want some hot food that I don't have to chisel off the bottom of my pots and pans.

Even if you are merely boiling water for mac-n-cheese with the small pots, you better be stirring CONSTANTLY. The noodles in contact with the bottom of the pot will stick fast.

There is a reason Teflon was invented. If you like to chisel food off the bottom of your pans when cooking or washing, get these. If you want no-stick, avoid. My $20 Coleman camping cook set does a better job than these.

5 out of 5 stars For those who know how to cook and clean with stainless   September 7, 2008

This is a great set. I bought it to replace my T-fal non-stick cookware because of all the news reports about non-stick Teflon particulates coming off and the possibility of causing cancer. Let me address some of the concerns I read in other reviews...First off, it doesn't burn food as some of those 1 star haters describe. You just have to know how to watch and cook your food. Second, all food does not stick to it. A little Pam goes a long way. Scrambled eggs and bacon come out just fine. Over easy eggs do stick a little but it is manageable. For those concerned about this and don't like to tend and maneuver their food during cooking I recommend keeping a small non-stick pan on hand. Third, they are not hard to clean. Soak for a few minutes in Dawn dish detergent and food comes right off. Sure, you can't take them right off the stove and into the dishwasher and expect them to come out gleaming. Most stuff needs a pre-rinse and most people should know that. Fourth, they are not, "thin cheap pieces of junk." They are good quality stainless. I ask this, how thick do you want your cookware to be? If your looking for heavy cast iron weight or $1000 dollar cookware, this may not be for you. For most of us its just fine. As for those who claim copper coated is the best, think again. This cookware is rated at 550 degrees. That means you can cook at high heat and stick them in the oven. Copper can't do that. The handles are great too, I can grab the pan while cooking and not worry about it burning me. The only thing I would have liked is glass lids so I can see the food cooking but that's just personal thing and I can manage. I hope this helps a bit :-)

Love the product but things tend to stick to these pans, so keep your non stick pans but just add these to your kitchen.

1 out of 5 stars A piece of junk! Stay away from it!   July 4, 2008

I bought this product to replace my non-stick T-Fal set. The skillet is very poorly designed as it burns the food. The fried eggs stick to the bottom of the skillet and then it is very hard to clean. Needs lots of scrubbing which destroys the nice finish of the skillet. I am a professional cook and this is the worst pan I have ever used. Very disappointed with the quality!
