Durable non-porous glaze won't react with foods and flavors and is safe to use for cutting and serving with metal utensils. Cleans beautifully in dishwasher. High quality stoneware ensures superior heat retention.Can be put in the dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer. For occasional dried-on food, sprinkle with a teaspoon of baking soda and water and scrub with a nylon or plastic scrubber. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, oven cleaners, bleach and other strong cleaners. Do not use on gas or electric stovetop. Not recommended for broiler use. To prevent chipping or breakage, do not drop, over-stack or knock against sides of sink. Before microwaving frozen meals, thaw in refrigerator for the best results. Do not run cold water into a hot dish, cracking could occur from sudden temperature change. Chantal Ceramic Bakeware carries a limited warranty for 1-year against cracking, crazing or fading. I am fairly new to fondue. For my bridal shower, my mother made up a whole fondue station. she had three pots. What we discovered from those pots was that electric can burn, metal sometimes leaves an aftertaste, and candle burners need to be close enough to keep the inside contents consistently warm. This pot does that!! Because it's ceramic, it leaves no aftertaste - there are no cords to trip over, and the candle is close enough to the base that everything stays warm and the bottom of the pot does not get scorched. LOVE IT!! I bought two others - in garden green and cobalt blue. They look so great together & my mom & I fondue on a fairly regular basis now, because we find it so fun!!!
