Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Critically acclaimed director Christopher Nolan follows up his blockbuster film Batman Begins with the highly anticipated The Dark Knight. Batman Begins was a successful re-boot of the popular Batman franchise, and The Dark Knight sequel takes the fresh perspective further, developing the highly anticipated, raw cat-and-mouse game between our superhero Batman and his twisted arch-nemesis The Joker. Celebrated stars include Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman, returning as Batman, Alfred, Lucius Fox, and Lieutenant Gordon, respectively; and new additions Heath Ledger as The Joker, as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Aaron Eckhart. The Art of the Dark Knight is the ultimate companion book to the movie, showcasing production ephemera including storyboard art, character sketches, Nolan’s original shooting script, still photos, and even personal behind-the-scenes material created by the Nolans and Crowley during the movie. The Art of the Dark Knight is certain to appeal to diehard and new fans alike.

2 out of 5 stars O_ ------><   September 6, 2008
Very disapointed about this book.
Not enough illustrations, roughs or sketches.
The pictures are for the most, too small and 90% of the book is about the script.

4 out of 5 stars A nice item for the invloved fan.....   August 31, 2008
This book is about on par with the hardbound that was released for the
first film; nice format but unless you are a TRUE fan of these films it
may leave you a bit underwhelmed. There are enough nice photos, but I
myself have never been a big fan of reading scripts, which is included
in this volume in its entirety.
But the fact that you are here reading user reviews for it shows that
you are interested enough! Buy it; you like it!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Script   August 31, 2008
If you're a screenwriter buy this book for the screenplay. It's probably the BEST script I've read -- simple description, great formatting etc. If you're not a screenwriter this might be a decent coffee table book but it's a hefty price. One side note, they added pictures in between the script pages, it's a tad annoying but you can look past it.

The artwork is cool. They have shot sheets which are nice.

4 out of 5 stars Nice, but could be better.   August 30, 2008
This was a nice book, and a must have for any true Bat-fan, however I wish it went into more detail on the actual making of the movie. It is interesting to read the original script and see how it differed from the final product. In short, great coffee table book, it just could have been better.

4 out of 5 stars Production Book: The Dark Knight   August 30, 2008
This is a solid book for any fan of "The Dark Knight". The pictures are spectacular and the production sketches are very interesting. Do understand that over half the content of the book is the script. That's a nice feature for some fans of the movie, but a let down for those more interested in visuals.
