A little Messy September 5, 2008
I have a finely ground coffee and it tends to make a bit of mess with the grounds. They end up in the water resivoir and on the lid that covers the filter. Pretty good otherwise.

Brew 'N Go-not good August 20, 2008
Just bought this product and am not happy. Coffee grounds are in the cup of coffee and all over the filter lid. After every cup of coffee, I have to unplug and rinse the entire coffeemaker in the sink. What a mess! I'm ready to throw it out. The coffee is terrible (weak and full of grounds) and it makes a mess. Not worth my money.

Just in time coffee breaks! August 12, 2008
This is the second B & D coffeemaker I've owned. The first was damaged in an office accident. This one is still going strong. It's just right for that mid-afternoon coffee buzz and keeps me from drinking the entire 8 cup office pot single-handedly. I recommend this to anyone who needs a small brewer for home or office. It's small, unobtrusive and brews a really great cup of coffee.

If I could rate it no stars I would! July 31, 2008
I had purchased one of these a few years back and loved it! It was perfect for morning coffee/tea while getting ready for work each day! It broke after a few years so I replaced it. I assumed that the quality would be the same as teh first one. I used the new one for less than two weeks when it broke. The button that is supposed to be pressed down to begin the the unit didn't engage and thus nothing! I gave it to my handyman to try and fix and he said it was a goner. Needless to say I'm unhappy with this product. I've bought something else to replace it. Too bad they didn't make this one like the last one.

This product is excellent for brewing a single cup of coffee. At my job, we are not allowed to have coffee makers that have a heating element, unless, like this one, they automatically turn off after brewing. This fills the bill perfectly.

Okay, so my bosses are happy. So how do I like it?

The good: The unit doesn't need paper filters, and you fill it with the cup you're going to drink from. Unlike the pod coffee makers, you can control how strong you want the coffee.

The bad: It can be tricky to fill. The cup (like any coffee cup) really isn't made for pouring, and the reservoir is not exactly easy to aim for with a cup of water. Have some paper towels handy.

Additionally, as many have noted, the unit occasionally splatters coffee grounds all over the reservoir and the filter chamber, necessitating a thorough cleaning. This doesn't happen every cup, but is almost guaranteed if you put way too much coffee grounds in.

The resultant cleaning is very simple if you invest in a one-dollar bottle brush, and while I'll certainly second the manufacturer's warnings about immersing the unit, the reservoir and filter chamber can be well rinsed in the sink. I let the unit totally dry overnight, and I'm ready to go the next morning. This happens about once a month for me, and I use it everyday.

Also, I misplaced the original cup after the first week, but this unit works well with any coffee cup. the flow from the maker to the cup is a nice gentle stream, so there's no splashing or percolating.

Well worth the bucks, even with the occasional hiccup.
