pretty good -- but flaws April 28, 2008
The rack is a decent design. I am using in the basement, so the unfinished look is fine. However, a few concerns:
1. the wood is rather cheap, and easily splinters. More importantly, it easily cracks during assembly (screwing in wood screws). I don't plan to unassemble & reassemble, but if I did, I would worry that it would further split.
2. The precut rectangular spaces to insert the wood pieces are not precision-cut, and often too slightly too small. I needed to take a piece of sandpaper and modestly sand in several areas so that it would fit (without forcing).
3. the instructions are poor, and it is easy to install backwards (so that the pre-bored holes for the top piece don't align).
4. Finally, the individual slots for bottles are a tight fit -- so far all bottles fit, but champagne bottles do NOT.

Once set up, it does the job. A bit pricey for the mixed quality.

i found this rack to be one of the best values as far as cost per bottle. i was looking for cheap storage for in the basement, and this works great. to comment on the complaint about this not being finished: why would you want it finished? do you keep your wine in your living room where it's too warm and there's too much light? i've also heard from others that the paint or varnish can over time leave an off-taste in the wine.

good winerack for price.

This product was extremely misleading in that no where in the product discription does it mention the fact that the wine rack is composed of unfinished wood. Had I known I would have to add a significant amount of time and effort to stain the product in addition to its assembly, I more than likely would have purchsed a different product altogether.

An together disappointing experience.
