You wish these were THE ones November 16, 2008
These seem like they should be the ones that last forever. But the things they advertise as being great about these is their downfall. They are TOO heavy, fall out and you have to keep re-sticking them to try to find a better spot. Overall, stick with the little plastics ones that you have to buy over and over again because they work much better AND what's wrong with having to buy a new set every year. Stay away from these. They aren't what you think.

I've had the standard yellow plastic ones -- they do this one hold-the-hot-corn job great but then they rust or they break. I've looked at more stylin' ones, but some are too cute, and others look still too fragile for this actually quite heavy-duty task. I'm glad I kept looking until I found this set. Fully functional. Solid. Heavy. Stainless steel with no joins or plastic bits to break or rust. The brushed design is ergonomic, and certainly matches modern flatware designs much better than the other options.

So . . . looks good on the table, feels good in the hand, does the job, cleans up without breaking. I'm happy; and for my money I think any additional cost upfront is worth it over years and years of sweet corn-cobbing.

I had bought and went thru several packages of those with plastic handles which last a short time. At first I thought the stainless steel ones were a bit pricy but they are more than just a little bit durable. I am very pleased with them as is the rest of the family.
