Great "Beginners Chaise" May 31, 2008
I say beginners chaise becuase it is not as wide and long as most chaises but i knew that when I purchased. Overall, it is very sturdy, came shipped quickly and was very easy to put together. I read about how others had their loungers drip some kind of stain. I bought mine thinking I would put them out in the rain, let them drip and them paint them to seal. I did just that, and they never dripped any stain. I did notice that the loungers appeared dry in spots and if not painted would need oiled...after only one rain, I thought that was a bit too soon to need maintenance; however, I painted mine to match my other outdoor furniture and they look outstanding!

Construction problem May 29, 2008
Strathwood Chaise Lounge The chaise was not assembled correctly at the factory. We could not select a fairly upright position. The most upright angle of the back was about 135 to the seat, not comfortable for reading. Rather than return it, my husband constructed an additional piece and made the necessary adjustments. There didn't seem to be a problem with the stain leaking on to a wood deck.

Pretty good for what you pay for May 22, 2008
Very sturdy, and beautiful; one slat had to be redrilled/rescrewed on one unit (we bought 2), bu overall, very satisfactory.

Regarding the design, *definitely* needs thick pads that include a head pillow - too flat and hard to be comfortable otherwise.

arrived with broken back 6wk wait for out of stock replacement part May 22, 2008
I purchased two of the chaise lounges, one came with a broken back and I have to wait 6 weeks until another might be shipped..out of stock now.? maybe
while assembling the chaises I noticed the poor quality of material and workmanship. and poor followup to replace broken parts
this looks like a container bid on a poorly produced product
it is really hard to take the positive reviews seriously

Wood is highly durable and instructions are easy to follow if you read them (after first failed attemp, I had to read them). Great fit for my backyard. Adjustable back makes for great and easy way to lift it. Just sit up and pull the back piece and adjust to your liking. I would suggest that if you plan to move the chairs around to put some sort of cloth backing on the front two legs.
