These things are amazing! They are so sharp you can cut through virtually anything with total ease.

The steak knives cut through thick cuts of meat like butter and the chef's knife goes through vegetables like they weren't even there.

For the gourmet cook, or even the dabbler, this is the perfect set. Enough variety of knives to get the jobs done, plus 8 steak knives which are handier than I thought they would be. Can't go wrong w/ Henckels!

Knives That Actually Cut March 9, 2007

These are hands down the best knives I have ever used. They are balanced perfectly and feel great in your hand. Apparently, the utensils I had before that I called "knives", were actually just dull pieces of metal that crushed food apart. The knives will cut through anything with ease. The kitchen shears are very handy for cutting open packages or cutting chicken into pieces. The video is very informative about proper cutting techniques and safety. The set is well worth the price.

Although my purchase of this knife set is for a gift, I only purchase this brand. They are totally superior to any other knives on the market. I have tried other brands (Wusthof, Etc.) but prefer this brand, for it's quality.
