Nice when it works June 27, 2007
Its nice when it works. just doesnt work all the time, though. With EVOO, I dont get a spray all the time - I get more like a stream. But I am ok with it.. its healthier than using PAM.

People looking for a product that 'sprays' 'EVOO' will be disappointed.

I bought this to go with my new Calphalon Contemporary non-stick pan set. They recommended the use of one of these. I had never used one before and had always meant to get one, but had put it off until I had to get one. Using Extra Virgin Olive Oil is very expensive, but so much more heathier for you, and this works excellent. You fill it 1/2 full of Olive Oil, then before you use it you pump and prime it and it sprays "just enough" oil on your pans after pre-heating. So you don't waste any precious oil and your food doesn't float in it!!

I love it and wish I had gotten it sooner. I got an extra one as a gift and plan on buying more for gifts. It is the best gadget to have in your kitchen and everyone should have one.

I tried a cheaper, plastic mister, it took forever to pump enough pressure to spray a mist. With Misto, it takes a lot less effort to make a mist, and it looks sharp. Works great.

This gadget works well if you do not overfill it. The MISTO website says to put no more than 1/3 cup of oil in it. We made the mistake of putting too much oil in at first and it would only "stream" oil for a month or so. We thought it was a terrible device until the oil got down to the level where it should be. I'm guessing most of the unhappy reviews here are because of this problem. Now that we know this is the issue, it sprays wonderfully! We're going to get another one for canola.

I have had the Misto for about a month. After reading the reviews, I was a little hesitant to get one. However, I have used mine for a month and have had no problems. I do release the pressure by loosening the top after each use and I have been careful not to overfill it. It works great to mist food so spices stick for grilling. Besides, it is cheap enough that if it only lasts 6 months or a year, I'll just buy another.
