Even SD Looks Good! October 25, 2008
I was prepared for Standard DirecTV to look worse than my old Mits 35" tube. This I have come to expect from viewing other HDTVs.

Happy to discover that the SD picture quality is just fine on this Samsung!

Of course the HD picture quality is superb. On standard DVD, the picture is also excellent, but does vary, depending on the quality of the DVD transfer, etc.

The only less than ideal issue on this unit is the on board speakers. Most will use an external audio system and seems Samsung is assuming this. For a streamlined look, there are no front firing speakers, so the whole cabinet resonates. There actually appears to be more loudness behind the TV.

Still, that doesn't keep me from giving five stars. Great purchase!

A super-quality LCD HDTV solution October 24, 2008
I was initially concerned that the "touch of color" would be distracting and unpleasant. But I decided to embrace change, and hope that the Samsung marketeers had done their homework. Within seconds of installation of my new LCD TV, I LIKED the subtle color in the bezel. In fact, that color combined with the high-gloss frame and over-all style radiates a high-class look that would enhance the most beautiful rooms.

This display-quality of this panel is so excellent, that I regret not spending another $600 on the 52" version.

Great TV October 24, 2008

I spent a lot of time looking around for a good tv. After reading many reviews and all the horror stories I decided to go with the 650 series. Great picture right out of the box, you can play with some of the settings if you want to adjust to your room. Spoil yourself on some HD channels or HD gaming. SD tv will never look the same.

On a side note find out who your white glove shipper is and contact them about the delivery date, I got my tv 4 days before the "estimate" date doing so.

Amazing picture October 24, 2008

I did a lot of researching HD televisions before deciding on this particular model. I had heard from several friends that Samsung was the way to go - now I completely agree. The picture is amazing. The functionality is awesome, and the price is good. The pros far outweigh the con. That's right, just one con - to me anyway. It takes about 7-10 seconds to turn on. But, to me, this is just a minor inconvenience. I am not a technology buff by any means, but I highly recommend this set.

Best LCD on the market October 24, 2008
1st off I run a 7.1 home theater surround system and wanted to upgrade my hd tv to 1080p. I did a lot of research and found that Samsung had the best tv's.

After receiving the lcd tv and setting it up the picture is amazing and the sounds just from this model lcd is very good not tinny at all. The colors jump out at you the 120hrz processing is very nice eliminates most ghosting. This is a very space saving tv if you want large size but save room and it is surprisingly light weight.

1 last thing that they don't tell you about this tv it may save you a little on your heat bills during the winter the lcd does give off quite a bit of heat so you may have to turn your thermostat down a bit this winter.

Cost wise I price shopped stores out of curiosity to see if I could get a better deal and after going to all the big box stores that most would think to go to I realized one thing. I would pay almost 3,500.00 for the same tv with the extended warranty plus tax at a store and I got the same tv here with extended warranty and free shipping for less than 1,900.00.

It's a no brainer buying online is cheaper and with amazon.com you cant go wrong.
