5 out of 5 stars Samsung TV   August 9, 2008
The Tv picture is awesome, the features on the TV are amazing I highly recommend this set. I would recommend buying it from Amazon, as well.

5 out of 5 stars Great television! Great Service!   August 9, 2008

I had been reading up on flat screen televisions for weeks. I was torn between LCD vs Plasma. I visited the big box stores and looked at way too many televisions! Saw the TOC Samsung LCD and I was sold. Not only was it a beautiful picture, it was a beautiful television set. The red bezel is stunning!

I was torn over whether to purchase it from a Big Box Store or Amazon. The Big Box actually matched Amazon's price and told me I could have the TV in a week. HOWEVER they also wanted to charge me a delivery fee, a set up fee, and kept pushing a calibration session (for a fee). All of a sudden their price match was a mis-match and I decided to go with Amazon. I ordered the set on Monday and it was in my house on Thursday!

As for delivery from CEVA... very impressive service! As I said, I oredered the set on Monday and they called me on Weds offering a choice of delivery days-- Thurs or Friday. I chose Thursday between 1:00 and 5:00 The delivery man was at my house by 2:00. He was very polite and very helpful. He brought the set inside my house, unpacked the box, put the set on the stand, and had me turn it on to make sure I had sound and picture. He offered to take the packing boxes away but I decided to keep them... just in case.

Thank you Amazon for having great products in stock at great prices. And thank you CEVA for providing truly white glove service.

5 out of 5 stars Best TV out there right now   August 8, 2008

Like everyone else dropping $ this big on a TV, I did tons of research. Checked all the specs, read all the reviews. This TV lives up to the hype. I had 32" Olevia that went up to 1080i, and also a 50" high-end Samsung Plasma that does 1080i--up until now, the plasma was the best picture I've seen on a TV. This LCD has NO noticeable motion blur and makes the 6 month old plasma look like a first generation HDTV.

Even with regular 1080i Comcast cable, the picture is incredible. I also got a PS3 to use as a Blu-Ray player and it's stunning.

Red bezel, 4 HDMIs, 120hz...this is the best picture you can get anywhere near this price range. Buy it now before football season starts. We watched some preseason on it last night--best football picture I've seen.

Amazon's white glove was great. Ordered Sunday night, got a call Tuesday evening to schedule for Wednesday delivery. Company called Wednesday morning because the truck had been delayed, they rescheduled for Thursday. They showed up exactly on time, took the time to bring the TV in, unpack it, hook it up, and let me verify no dead pixels, etc. 4th day delivery? Pretty good for an item this large that shipped from PA to Atl, GA.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic TV   August 8, 2008

This is a wonderful television. Like most people I searched for the best value and best TV. The reviews and ratings of this TV are worthy and correct. The design of the Touch of Color is great and it looks really nice in my living room. HD is great, Blu Ray is even better. Standard channels look OK, but I guess this is normal for an LCD.

I wish Picture in Picture was actually useable, it seems worthless. The remote does not bother me, it's just a remote. The sound on the TV is really nice. A great buy from Amazon too.

Shipping was very disapointing. It was free, I understand that but still. It was one guy who dragged my new 46" TV up the stairs leaving an ink trail from the box and a large scuff on the wall. Then I helped him lift it out of the box onto my stand. He made me turn it on and left. For a TV that size, there should have been 2 people, and a little care for my brand new TV and apartment.

5 out of 5 stars amazing HDTV   August 7, 2008
The Samsung LN46A650 is simply amazing. I have it connected to PS3, Wii, HDTV cable set-top box and all look amazing...much better than on my previous HDTV which is about 2 years old. Since I have a PS3, I didn't "need" the extra features of the 750 model since the PS3 is DLNA compliant and hooks up to my Media-Center PCs anyway. If you have a PS3 then save the $$$ and get this model vs. the 750 series. If you do not have a PS3, you may want to buy this model AND a PS3 for about the same price as the 750 series cost and get much better value for your money, especially since the PS3 is the highest rated blu-ray player at this time. That is exactly what I did.

Black levels are amazing, especially for an LCD. Not only do HDTV signals look great on this TV, but analog signals look better too. I have not noticed any artifacts or motion blur, even during fast-paced action such as X-games, baseball, etc. My parents have almost the exact same TV, except that theirs is a 2007 model....and this one looks noticeably better than theirs. I attibute that to the improvements Samsung made for the 2008 model year.

I actually like the red TOC around the edge of the frame, but for those that are wondering about it; it is barely noticable. Not nearly as noticable as it is on the 750 series.

It does a great job of upconverting to fill the screen with picture rather then leaving black bars on the sides like my previous HDTV did. Blu-Ray discs played via the PS3 are wonderful on this set. I never would have thought that blu-ray discs would have been all that much beter than standard DVDs but I was quickly proven wrong.

My only complaints are that the PIP menu is not as easy to access as it should be and you cannot create custom names for the inputs. IMO, if these two very minor issues were corrected then this would be a flawless TV. I'm not going to let those two minor complaints lower my review though, just wanted everyone to be aware of this fact. The custom named inputs are not that big of a deal for me because I play everything through a home theater system anyway. A single button for PIP wold be nice though. Harmony remotes work with this set very well, emulating all the buttons on the original remote with very little custom programming needed to do so.
