4 out of 5 stars Learning to Love It   March 20, 2008

After owning my Cuisinart for 4 months, I think I can finally say that I like it. Compared to my old food processor, this one requires an owner's manual. I'm getting used to the settings and its abilities, but it took time. However, it's so QUIET and sits so solidly as it does its thing that I really do love it. I haven't used it for shredding as much as I thought I would because by the time I get all the food sliced to fit the tube, I might as well just keep slicing or get out my grater. So I don't use it for every shredding and slicing job, but certainly for big ones. It's very easy to clean and the plastic bowl/tubes/lids are very tough (I drop things a lot and I actually broke the lid of the my old food processor which was much flimsier).

4 out of 5 stars One month experience   March 3, 2008

I have this processor about a month and I enjoy making different salads for my family of three. The 7-cup size is good even for more people; assemble and disassemble process quiet easy; no problem with washing it afterward even by hands in the sink. So far I did not brake any part of it but once I accidentally dropped plastic cup and the lid on the floor and realized how fragile is the machine. My advise to the producer to make the plastic parts of it more rigid - thicker and stronger. You have to be very delicate using the machine and it's not always possible when you cutting and chopping in the kitchen.

5 out of 5 stars I love my new Cuisinart   February 29, 2008

I have had this product just a few weeks, but it has already proven itself well worth the price I paid. I have used it both for small jobs, such as mincing a couple of garlic cloves at a time, or dicing small amounts of onion, as well as larger ones, such as making BIG batches of coleslaw. I even tried doing brownie batter in it (something I never would have thought of had I not seen it demonstrated on the accompanying video--they must have made a ton of these videos, since I can't imagine why else they would still be using that medium instead of DVDs) and I am exceedingly pleased with how it has performed on those jobs.

The large-mouth feeding chute can be a challenge to clean, since you cannot entirely disassemble it, but all it takes is a little bit of creativity to overcome that problem, based on what I've experienced so far. The machine and its accessories appear well-built and sturdy, and the motor is very powerful--600 watts. Its size, 7 cups, seems just about right for my purposes. Time will tell whether the lid will hold up to regular use, but so far this food processor has been a real a pleasure to work with.

One of the reasons I selected the Cuisinart Pro Classic food processor was the large number of favorable reviews it has received over the years. Now I am adding my voice to theirs. Some critics complained that it is complicated to use. I think that's more perception than reality, since it does look a bit complicated at first. However, all you really need is to read through the instruction book and do a couple of practice runs with the food processor. It's not rocket science by any stretch of the imagination.

5 out of 5 stars Great Little Gadget!   February 14, 2008

We enjoy using this little bugger for annihilating vegetables. It does a quick job of it but unfortunately it is hard to control how well you chop. If you are making salsa or need things finely minced then you are in luck! If you are looking to make stir fry veggies then they may be too thinly cut! Still, it's handy, easy to clean, and small enough to store on the counter. Thanks. >

4 out of 5 stars Good piece of equipment   February 11, 2008
I purchased this processor for my wife and I got to use it first. Putting the different pieces together was not difficult. The actual food processing was a breeze. But after that it was a struggle to clean up the parts. Food particles get trapped in crevices that nothing can reach except high water flow. Also chopping green veggies like cilantro is not a strong suit of this Cuisinart.
