5 out of 5 stars this juicer ROCKS!!!!!!   October 20, 2008
I purchased this juicer after painstaking review of everything out there under $800. I received it last week and am thrilled. I read all of the reviews and took the advice seriously. I fill up a sink full of hot soapy water before juicing and put all the parts in the sink when I'm done. Most of the parts just rinse off. The only part which requires any work at all is the blade and that takes maybe 2 minutes max to get sparkly clean. I put a plastic bag in the waste container and it is done.

I go to the farmers market once a week and prepare (wash and cut) the veggies for the week, so when it is time to juice all I have to do is cut up the apples and fruit which cant be cut in advance.

This thing juices raw beets like they are butter. It is my understanding that many juicers require that you cook beets before juicing. It is amazing.

The only thing I cant figure out is that I get a little splatter sometimes while juicing and I dont know where it is coming from.

The juicer takes up a bit of space when all put together, but it looks great on the counter.

I think I am going to buy a composter, as I am feeling a bit guilty about throwing away all the lovely pulp. I found a great juicing cookbook that has recipes for the pulp, so that helps with some of it.

This is an outstanding product. You will not be sorry if you get this juicer

3 out of 5 stars Too much waste   October 6, 2008

The Breville makes beautiful juice, but there is more than 50% waste by weight. I wish I had researched more. I now have a Breville for sale for someone who wishes only juice and no fiber. For this the product is lovely. I ended up purchasing another product where there is NO waste, with all the fruit/vegetables being processed. I am much happier with that, and figure that the savings in fruits and vegetables with pay for both the units in one year.

5 out of 5 stars This is One Incredible Machine   October 4, 2008

I purchased this juicer based on some very positive reviews on Amazon. My expectations were high, but this product greatly exceeded them.

I have purchased many products on Amazon over the years, but this is the first time I have ever been motivated to write a review. Of course, it is difficult to describe in words how incredible this machine truly is, and other reviews have provided details so I will not repeat them here - no need for redundancy.

I decided to get a juicer because I liked the idea of being able to create something really healthy to consume in this day and age of processed foods. I'm not a health food nut - I probably eat way too many processed foods. Without going overboard, I wanted to get a quality machine that would do the job, be fun to use, and be easy to maintain. This juicer was clearly one of the most expensive ones out there, but based on the other reviews, I thought I would take a chance.

This machine is incredibly fast. It perfectly separates the juice from the pulp. The only problem is that it is so much fun to use, it's over too soon. This is a machine that is a joy to use, and the quality of the juice product is difficult to describe.

Think of what a Cuisanart does to vegetables, etc., and ratchet up the quality of the result by several orders of magnitude. You're drinking amazingly fresh juice in a matter of seconds, not minutes. It gives new meaning to the word "fresh." And it's simple to clean.

In summary, probably one of the best products of any kind I have ever purchased.

1 out of 5 stars Beware of 6 month deferred payment options!   October 4, 2008

The juicer itself is a great investment. Nothing bad to say about it. But Amazon has lost a big spending customer today! I purchased this juicer under the assumption it was being offered under a 6 month deferred payment if you use your Amazon.com card. Apparently I was wrong! Correction, it had to be an Amazon store card. I never new there was a difference and it wasn't as nicely explained on the site as it was to me over the phone when I called Amazon. Now instead of paying this off for the next 6 months, I have to go over my budget and pay it in full NOW! Amazon refuses to take any responsibilty for its lacking info in the offer, at the least! They have lost a loyal customer. Never will I buy from them again! The juicer gets 5 stars! Amazon gets 0!

5 out of 5 stars Best Juicer   September 29, 2008
This Juicer is the best I replaced a nice Waring but Waring can't hold ground to the Breville one. This juicer chops through everything I can place in it and doesn't waste any juice. It is a BIG juicer so make sure you have space if you live in a tiny Chicago apartment say goodbye to your counter space, but it is worth it.
