4 out of 5 stars Pretty good Weather Meter   October 24, 2007
This is a pretty good weather meter. It does everything as expected. The forecating is a little off. Once you reset it a few times it gets better. It is definitely worth the money.

3 out of 5 stars Good product idea, bad design for wall mount   October 8, 2007

I bought this to replace another oregon scientific unit that was dropped and broken. This one has more features, but the small lcd screens make it horrible for wall placement unless you have the best eagle eyes in the world. The outdoor unit does seem pretty water resistant as it sits in the rain a bit.

The thermometer in the main unit is spot on but the outdoor unit seems to read a bit too cold (ie. lower than it really is). My transmission distance is about 15 feet through a rock wall and has always been good. I've been going on 5 months on the same batteries, and no replacements needed yet. I have not tested the range to it's limits, but I have tried 30 feet through the rock wall and it still worked.

the curved plastic of the unit makes it sit pretty far from the wall too unlike the old flush units. I find this a decent value for the cheap price, but I'd say to spend more for a larger and more readable screen from across the room.

2 out of 5 stars No Signal, no atomic clock, reduced battery life   August 15, 2007
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I live in Forest Hills, Queens (New York City) and I cannot get a signal (for the atomic clock) despite my best efforts, moving it to different areas of my house. Furthermore, although the display is crisp and clear, the forecast symbol is animated, which can be an eye sore for some.
Also, it's probable that electric functions trying to pick up a signal that it can not, is wasting battery life, so that's another strike from the 5 stars it started with.

5 out of 5 stars Does what is expected of it   July 24, 2007

Alarm is nice, rises steadily. It is hard to find a clock now a days where turning off the alarm is easy. I guess that is intentional to make sure that one gets up.

I like the temperature indicators. Very helpful specially during Michigan winters. Moon phase is interesting.

Not a fan of weather forecast though.

Had the clock for few months now. The weather forecats, we found, is not always correct. Did not have to replace batteries yet. After a while the features became so handy that I ordered another one. The same outside sensor is being used by both the units. The backlight stays on for a very short duration in my opinion. My daughter likes the Oregon Scientific with the projection though which has a smaller footprint than this one, but it does not have all the features this one does. Overall this is a nice and attractive clock. Wish it had projection too.

3 out of 5 stars Nice, but I can't get the Atomic part to work!   July 9, 2007

This was a great value; indoor-outdoor thermo, weather forecaster, alarm clock...BUT it is also an Atomic clock I am not picking up any signals! I live in Baltimore where i should have no issues. But still...nothing
