4 out of 5 stars Good product   March 22, 2007

As a remote thermometer and weather forecaster it's hard to beat. With pets, plants, early morning activities and sharp(and unexpected) overnight drops in temp, that's important. Why not 5 stars? The clock reflects pacific time; we're on central. Minor problem. The mental adjustment is easy to make.

Set up was easy. More accurate than I could have hoped for.

4 out of 5 stars Good if you get it cheap   February 7, 2007

I got it cheap during one of those Friday sales and I got it for my parents. It has been 3 weeks now and I am pretty happy with it.

It looks pretty good. So I can put it just about anywhere without shame. The setup was pretty painless. But I did not have the patience to try out the auto/time. It did not seem to work as there may be weak radio signal at our place. The weather report/forecast seems to be accurate, so is the temperate readout.

Good little gadget, me thinks.

4 out of 5 stars Good deal for the money   January 24, 2007

I got this on a Friday sale for a very low price. Given that I didn't pay full retail, I am happy with my purchase. I love the fact this is a wireless set. The set up was very easy. Temperature seems to be accurate based on my HVAC unit's reading, and my outdoor thermometer reading. I am not a meteorologist, so precise accuracy isn't essential. I just need to know if it's really cold outside, or really hot, etc....

One disappointment is the forecast feature doesn't seem to work very well. It is showing me sunshine for the next twelve hours, when the weather is predicted to be overcast and rainy as it has been for the last two days. It also showed sunny last night. Maybe this has to do with where I have the outdoor sensor. ? But again, I'm not using this device to plan out my days.

For the money, a great device. I would give it 5 stars if the prediction feature worked.

5 out of 5 stars This is a GREAT home use product.   December 29, 2006

For the money; you can't beat this. It's accurate to w/in 1.5 of laboratory calibrated instruments in both temp and humidity. You WILL have to wait several hours before the unit achieves equilibrium with the climate it is exposed to. But who cares? On a day to day basis, it is fine for home use and delivers accurate results. I live over 600 miles (line of site) from the Atomic Clock transmission site and synched up in less than 30 minutes.
