3 out of 5 stars Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 10-piece Cookware Set   September 19, 2007

This set should include the 2 quart saucepan also. The pans are heavy duty, well balanced on the stove, but are akward to carry and pour out of. The 3 1/2 qt saucepan has only 1 very long handle and is very heavy to move from the stove. In my opinion it should have 2 rounded handles to grasp onto, as well as the 3 quart saute' pan having 2 rounded handles. If given the chance I would trade in these pans. Cooking is nice as it cooks evenly and food does not scorch. My only other complaint is when frying foods. Food particles scrape off easily, but there is an oily residue left that is very hard to clean off, even when using the cleaning suggestions that came with the pans.

5 out of 5 stars Great purchase!   June 7, 2007

Before we received this set, I was concerned since I read the previous reviews after ordering, and some reviewers were concerned about discoloration. The flyers that ship with the product warn against using spray cooking oils, as the propellants may discolor the metal. We have avoided spray oils, used this set heavily for several weeks, and have had no discoloration at all, all pieces cook and clean well. A very complete set that works well on our flat surface electric range. I would recommend without reservation.

1 out of 5 stars Junk   April 6, 2007

These are truly the worst cookware I have ever used. It doesn't matter how low of heat used when cooking, everything sticks to the cooking surfaces. I think cooking an egg on my cement driveway would stick less than on these pans. Don't let the price and the shinny surfaces fool you...these are junk! The only thing that doesn't stick to these pans is boiling water. I feel embarrassed, since I purchased these pans as a family Christmas present...save your money and buy a cheaper set of cookware!!!!!!

2 out of 5 stars I hate these pans   March 20, 2007

Not only do they appear splotchy after you use them once, but the skillet is horrible as everything sticks to it no matter how low the heat is. If you oil it or use butter you have to use so much that the food is ruined. My husband and I paid $400 for these pans and we wish that we paid $150 for a cheap set as they seem to work better. The lids are another issue as they are hard to store because of the handles. The pans look nice when you first buy them but after a couple of uses that too goes away. we have owned these pans for a year now and this weekend we are going out to buy another set of skillet pans to replace the Calphalon onessince we argue about these pans so much. Do not buy!

4 out of 5 stars These pans are great!   October 6, 2006

I received this set as a gift and I could not be happier. They are beautiful to look at and wonderful to cook with! Somewhere in the documentation it states that these pots will heat up faster than others. I read that and thought, "Yeah, right". Well, it turned out to be absolutely true! I gave them four out of the five stars, though, because the bottom inside of the pans have acquired a blotchy/mottled look ~~ right from the first time I used them. No amount of cleaning seems to completely remove it, either. Still, this is such a minor (and esthetic) issue, that I'd buy them again without hesitation. They're that good.
