1 out of 5 stars Extremely disappointed. Wish I could give it zero stars.   January 23, 2007

I bought both the paperback size and the one for hardcovers. Haven't opened the hardcover one yet and don't know if I'll bother. The paperback one does not provide much light at all, though the page is readable. Just not what I was expecting. But the worst part is the annoying and very distinct wavy pattern on the pages -- it's like an overlay of a printed pattern that covers the entire page. Not at all pleasant.

I would never, ever recommend this product to anyone.

I bought this Lightwedge for my daughter who is 7. I found out that after I put her to bed, she could not go to sleep right away. She would use a flashlight to do little reading. Well after doing some research this seemed to be the best type of light. It shows right on the page and should be better on the eyes. My only issue is you have to buy to separate sizes. I ordered the paperback size because that is all she is reading but even that size is small because there are different size paperbacks. They should make a retractable light that fits a vary of sizes. But it does do the job!

4 out of 5 stars Its a cool gadget to have   January 3, 2007

It worked just as i expected. I like it and its very useful everytime i travel or read late at night, which i often do. It could be a bit brighter that it is, but still no other problems. Battries also last a long time.

5 out of 5 stars Any bad reviewers are insane...   November 14, 2006

Unless you received a defective unit, there is NO way anyone could give this any rating short of 5 stars. Ive owned dozens of booklights by several manufacturers and NOTHING compares to this product. Ive had mine for over 2 years and its still going perfectly.

It's also sick that even though I read with it an average of an hour a night, Ive only had to replace the batteries 3 times. My spouse sleeps peacefully while I use this booklight, was not the case with other booklights that shine on page.

Don't be deterred by reviewers that say it isn't bright enough. If this light isn't bright enough for your eyes, then you have no business reading in the dark.

The only downside I can come up with is that the clear area is somewhat easy to scratch. My unit has many hairline scratches that you can see during the day, but are practically invisible when at use at night.

Buy it, you won't be dissappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Works for Me!   November 5, 2006

Just completed a 25 day cruise and used the LightWedge to avoid keeping my wife awake. She is very light aware and the LightWedge lit my books and never kept her awake.
