I am using this barbeque spit and rotisserie with a 3-burner, Charbroil "Commercial" gas grill purchased from Lowe's Home Improvement a couple of years ago. I installed it easily in a manner of minutes. I have used it many times since then. The last time I used it I prepared an 8-pound sirloin tip roast. The unit handled it with ease.

If you want to use it with the grill cover open, then this rotisserie is ok.
If you want to use it with the cover closed, you will have problems with some grills.
The mounting brackets do not provide enough holes to mount them at the right height.
The handle is too big and thick and will touch the side shelf of some grills

I bought this rotisserie about a year ago. I would not reccommend it. The motor almost always bogs down and eventually shuts off. You have to babysit it and manually tun the handle to get the motor turning again. It seems that the motor just isn't powerful enough. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk.....

Having read all the customer reviews on this item (something I always do before making a purchase) I decided to purchase it anyway. I am glad I did!

The unit was installed on a CharBroil grill. All of the hardware was included. Having read the reviews I decided to test the motor before installation. It functioned as advertised. After I checked which hole patterns on which brackets (there are 2 pairs included to fit different grills) matched my grill I proceeded with the installation. After mounting the first bracket it was obvious that the rotisserie would not work in this configuration. The problem was that the bracket was factory bent into a "Z" configuration that looked more like ancient rune. The bracket needed to bent with it's legs at 90*. I removed the installed bracket and grabbed it's mate and headed off to the shop. I chucked each one in the bench vise and straightened the legs appropriately. Returned to the grill and installed both brackets. I dropped in the motor (it simply sits in the bracket), connected the spit and Voila! Instant rotisserie.

I put a beef roast on the rotisserie that night...MMMM Good!

If I didn't have to straighten the brackets and if the spit and prongs were stainless steel I would have given this product 5 stars. Still, it functions as advertised and it's worth purchasing.

Do not buy this rotisserie!!!!! It broke down within the first 10 minutes of use.
