5 out of 5 stars super handy   May 27, 2008
I use these primarily for smoking, but they also work well for when you're grilling for only a few people on your 22 1/2 Webber. Top notch.

5 out of 5 stars A Nice Upgrade   May 26, 2008

When I learned that the wire dividers were no longer available for the Weber 22-1/2" grill I was a bit miffed that I had to buy a more expensive product to do the same job--simply segregate the charcoal at the sides of the fuel area for indirect cooking. However, these new charcoal baskets do the job much better. They contain the charcoal and wood chips very well and are much more versatile. Using tongs, I can even move the hot coals to a different location for better heat distribution when necessary. This was a nice upgrade.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Cool   May 3, 2008

I like this little fuel basket set. It keeps the coals together when you want to create a two-zone fire. I have used this product about 6 times now. The only small con I find is that the lit coals near the ends don't hold their heat and are usually the first coals to die out. The coals in the center usually last (stay lit & hot)as they normally do. I use a Weber chimney to light my coals... and they burn bright red and then white hot before I dump them into these baskets. I would recommend these mostly to the grill-master who has it all. I find them worth the small cost I spent for them and as I said they work - just have to monitor your coals a little more than you may normally do. Great gift idea though.

5 out of 5 stars Worth every penny   April 28, 2008
I am an avid Weber griller. I have always used tinfoil to seperate the coals for in-direct grilling until I bought this. I love them. They are easy to use and mess free. I pour the coals right into them and light 'em. I now in-direct grill burgers, chicken, steaks, and fish. Then move them directly over these coal holders for the finishing touch. Easy, Clean, and dummy proof!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Very Hot   December 30, 2007

I have had Weber grills most of my adult life and can't be without one. I cook mostly with the indirect method. In the past I have used the (2) wire rack brackets to keep the charcoal along the side of the kettle and works great. I tried the new basket type and they also work great, but man do they burn hotter. 14lb.Turkeys cook a good 45-60 minutes faster and you don't have to reload the charcoal. You had better cover with aluminum foil right off the get-go or it gets to brown. This is probably because the charcoal sets up higher when the baskets are used and the airflow causes the charcoal to burn hotter. I recommend them but it takes some getting used to. Don't forget that meat thermometer.
