5 out of 5 stars 5 stars so far.   May 31, 2007
The weber site provides a quick identification of the part numbers needed for your grill.

Bars are stainless and quite heavy. Anticipating they will last longer than the originals (not stainless) which rusted out after about 4 years. Noticably less grease flameup as it seems to run off well. We had multiple grease fires cooking chicken before the replacement and none after.

These were also available at the local home improvement store for the same price, but if you're not in a hurry, free delivery is a convenient option.

3 out of 5 stars Stainless Steel will Still rust out! Just takes longer...   May 16, 2007

Please be warned, fellow Weber grill-heads. These Stainless bars are 5 times better than those horrible porcelain enameled steel ones, but they WILL rust, warp and crumble...I guarantee it. My original SS bars on my Weber Gold B lasted into the 5th season before all of a sudden they got all warped and began to collapse. Upon inspection I realized that they were corroded so badly they literally crumbled in my hands.

If you want a better solution, check this out: There is a metal fabricator guy in Burlingame California who makes these bars out of the same stainless steel, only about 30% thicker and heavier. And for the same price delivered as what these factory Weber bars will cost you. I expect to get 7 or 8 seasons out of these thicker bars for the same cost and I grill 2-3 times a week on average almost all year round.

Grill on....

He sells on Ebay under the name rcplanebuyer.

4 out of 5 stars Its what makes a Weber a Weber...   May 11, 2007
The secret to great grilling is flavor. And the secret to great flavor is smoke... and when the dripping fat from your meat hits these flavorizer bars it sizzles and smokes, and that flavor is wafted back up to the meat to soak in. I started out with stainless steel bars on my Weber Genesis grill, but I switched to porcelain coated. Quite frankly, there is no difference that I can tell. Unless you want to try and clean the darn things, I guess. And my first set of stainless warped with the heat, so, durability is not an issue. It is a great concept, these flavorizer bars, but go for the porcelain ones instead, unless I guess, you don't mind paying more than you have to.

5 out of 5 stars Good upgrade for the Weber   January 9, 2007

With new stainless flavorizer bars and new stainless steel cooking grates, I plan on many more years of use for this grill. My only wish is that they were a little cheaper on Amazon--price didn't beat local prices by much and only super saver shipping made it a deal.

5 out of 5 stars It's Amazon-Always reliable!!!!   July 4, 2006

The part was first quality and fair priced. It fit my grill perfectly since it is made by Weber for my grill. The site is easy to use and the information is very reliable.I recommend getting stainless steel because they generally last much longer than the other types.A Weber grill is an item that,if cared for properly, will last for many years. So why not improve yours and move up to stainless steel- I did!
