loved it for 3 months or so, then took it out on the BBQ (had used in the oven). flare up, killed the probe instantly. basically this is good for oven use.

REMOTE THERMOMETER May 5, 2008
This is a great product. In fact, I owned one f=before this and it lasted about 7 years before I dropped it. It is very convenient to use. You put meat on the barbeque and go about your business. The sensor in the meat sends a signal to the receiver that is either attached to your belt or in your pocket. Just before the meat gets to the right temperature, the receiver starts to beep. It couldn't be simpler!

Great for outdoor BBQ May 3, 2008
Product is extremely easy to understand and works great. I used it for the BIG GREEN EGG BBQ for slow cooking and smoking. Really makes it easy. I no longer have to keep opening the lid and checking. I highly recommend the product.

I bought the thing to use to monitor the temperature inside a smoker during real barbeque (note: grilling is not the same as barbequing). After trying several wireless thermometers, I thought I'd hit the jackpot when I saw the range of this. But, unfortunately, it's worthless because of deliberate deception by Oregon Scientific. Their product description on Amazon says, "LCD screen shows temperatures between 0 and 392 degrees F." But if you go to their web site, it admits that the display only goes to 199.

Bottom line: I'm tossing it in the trash and looking for another one. And, I will never buy anything from Oregon Scientific--I don't do business with companies that run scams on their customers.

Wireless Thermometer Works Great April 21, 2008
Most other thermometers did not have all the settings this one does ~ it even includes fish. Very easy to clean and setup for use. The range is adequate; we live on a 60' boat and can receive information on the remote from anywhere onboard.
