5 out of 5 stars Great for nonstick!   January 19, 2003

These utensils are a delight to use. Since I have some of the Calphalon nonstick pots and pans I needed safe utensils to use with them. These are the perfect companion to my nonstick cookware. The handles are thick enough to allow for a good grip and there is enough strength in the overall utensils to press down burgers or patties of sausage. Each untensil has a groove on the back of the handle that allows for resting on the edge of your pans and prevents the untensil from slipping into the pan or flipping out of the pan. There is no reason why you could not use these on regular cookware as well. Overall I rate these utensils as very good to excellent.

4 out of 5 stars A very good set.   December 29, 2002

A highly useful set. One of the only manufacturers to make turners with a straight edge which allows you to better spread oil/butter on a griddle and better scrape/scoop the food up. The turners also don't have slots that you have to clean. The ladle and non-slotted spoon are also great.

My only comments to warrant 4 stars are that the ladle would be nicer if it had pouring lips on the sides like some do. Also, the Calphalon tools get a little "limp" when they get hot. This is really only an issue for the spoon. I've never run into anything that I cook on a griddle over 400 oF, so melting them hasn't been an issue, but you do have to pay attention.

5 out of 5 stars Love 'em   November 26, 2002

I bought these after searching all around for heat resistent cooking utensils, and I'm so glad I did. I no longer have plastic melting into whatever it is I'm cooking!! I can even leave them sitting in the pan when cooking, and they still haven't melted. And, since they are plastic, my husband can now cook without fear of getting in trouble for scratching my pans!

2 out of 5 stars handles weighted wrong   November 6, 2002

These are very attractive and work great as long as you don't let go of one. They are weighted in the handles and all of these utensils constantly fall out of skillets and pans. Besides this being messy, if one hits you it could be dangerous. After many accidents, I don't use them anymore. I do not recommend.

5 out of 5 stars Great Spatulas!   January 18, 2002

As I spend a lot of time cooking in the galley of a boat I've tried lots of different brands of nylon utensils because I need something that will not rust in the salty environment. Calphalon has the only spatulas that have a fine enough edge to easily lift pancakes and crepes (for when I'm not feeling nimble enough to flip them in the pan) without ripping them apart, and the edge has not disintegrated/melted over time from heat, as other brands do, even after six months of constant use.
