5 out of 5 stars Great Product!   July 25, 2008
This item looks like a gimmick but it really does work great and if you have children, it makes dinner fun. Everyone can participate in making the pizza and then watch as it cooks! You get a great tasting pizza and it is probably a lot better for you than take-out.

5 out of 5 stars pizza w/ pizzazz   July 25, 2008
i love this thing. This is my second one (only because i accidently broke my last one). I use it constantly, and am very happy with it. Saves having to heat up the oven. Great for students!

5 out of 5 stars Pizzazz pizza is perfect   July 20, 2008
I've been experimenting with the Pizzazz oven and scratch pizza for six months. The pizza is superior to anything served at a pizzeria because the home baker can use high quality ingredients and you can't beat the convenience. This is a bread machine crust recipe, dough cycle.

Basic Pizza dough: 12" pizza
Ingredients:
1/2 C Water, room temperature or ice cold
1 Tsp Instant yeast/bread machine yeast
1 Tbs Vegetable or olive oil
1-1/2 C Flour: Bread or semolina flour, or combine the two.
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Sugar
Finely ground white cornmeal
Method:
Add water, yeast, oil, flour, and remaining ingrediest to pan in listed order. After 10 mins., check for consistency. Add small amount of water or flour as needed. Punch down the dough when cycle complete, if machine does not have a punchdown cycle. Sprinkle a little flour onto the work surface and shape the dough into a round ball by lifting up the edges all around and tucking them into the center. Sprinkle some cornmeal onto the work surface and press the ball into a disk. Depending on skill, the dough can be gently stretched to a 12" circle and placed on towel-supported bake pan, or placed on bake pan and evenly pressed and patted into a 12" circle. To increase crust crispness, lightly grease the bake pan.
Very important! Prick the entire surface of the dough except the edge with a fork at 1/2" intervals. To increase browning and crispness to the outer crust edges, brush lightly with oil (or see below).
At this stage the crust can be allowed to rise for an "aged" Sicilian style crust, or add toppings and bake immediately. If oil sprayer available, lightly spray entire pizza with oil. Set on Dual and bake for 10 mins. DO NOT TURN OVEN OFF. Carefully lift edge of pizza with non-metal spatula or tongs to check for doneness. Bottom should be a medium-brown. Continue baking another 5 mins. Check bottom again. If the bottom is browned to your preference, turn off Lower element and continue baking until the top and edges are baked to your preference. This pizza takes about 16-20 mins. depending on ingredients and room environment. When done, remove from baking pan immediately with spatula or tongs to a platter or pizza pan. Allow to rest for 3-5 mins. before cutting. For two 12" pizzas, just double the recipe, divide the dough, and place one ball in a plastic covered container and refrigerate until ready to use. The dough can also be wrapped and frozen. To clean pan: When cool, spray or wipe with household cleaner and leave it on for at least 20 mins. Scrub with a nylon pad only. Never allow metal objects to come in contact with the bake pan. Store pan in a plastic bag to prevent scratching and marring of the bake surface. If the bake surface should become scratched or marred, always grease it before use and the pan will "cure" over time. Actually, commercial baking pans are cured this way.

Good luck and happy pizza eating!

TIP: Frozen prepared store pizza baking can be speeded up by defrosting the pizza for about 15-20 seconds in the microwave. Do not overdefrost or you will wind up with a rubber crust.

5 out of 5 stars Pizza Baker   July 7, 2008
It's everything it is advertized to be. We also use it to toast tortilla chips covered with cheddar and jalopenos.

5 out of 5 stars Good product, works well   July 4, 2008
This little Pizza oven works great! I have tried both store-bought frozen and store-bought chilled pre-made pizzas, both rising-crust and crispy crust. I made some from scratch, and tried it with plain home made foccacia bread. Easy to clean (usually none required), doesn't heat up the kitchen. Crust browns nicely, toppings cook to perfection. You can't go wrong with this appliance!
