5 out of 5 stars ESSENTIAL kitchen appliance   March 29, 2003

Take away my stove, I'll cook on an open fire, take away all the gadgets including the food processor and I'll get by. Take away my Kitchenaid and I'll pursue you to the ends of the earth. This is the BEST appliance I ever got. I use it ALL the time. Great for bread that I bake every week, meringues are a breeze, I have the grinder and use it for meatloaf and the sausage stuffer makes the best Italian sausage you can't buy anywhere. All this and it looks so COOL! I can't remember what I did without it. Buy this baby, you'll never regret it. Heavy duty, mixes the heaviest batters, does all but the last 5 minutes of bread kneading. Skip the pouring shield, it's more trouble than it's worth. Tie a broomstick on the cat and mop up the flour. Anyway in our house you can always eat off the floor...

I love my Crystal Blue mixer. I don't know how I baked and cooked before. I have made cookies and meatloaf so far and it has worked great. I love the color too!!

Bought an Artisan in the Fall after our Sunbeam died. After a little getting used to, we loved it (along with our KitchenAid Food Processor & Blender). Handled very heavy cookie dough (stuff I'd always had to finish by hand with the Sunbeam), a few breads to light stuff. Our mixer to pass on to the kids when we no longer need it.

Over the weekend, however, it blew. Just wound it up to make a meringue and flash/bang/hand meringue. Called KitchenAid & they promised to send a new one right away.

5 out of 5 stars Best Purchase Ever!   March 22, 2003

I waited a long while before purchasing this mixer. I wanted to research all my options before investing in an expensive mixer. I'm so glad I did. It is wonderful (a little heavy though)! Not only does it look fantastic in the kitchen but it works wonderfully. I have spent so much time in the kitchen now because I love cooking with my mixer. I recommend this purchase to anyone who's considering buying. You won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Very Cool!! And more   March 13, 2003

All those cooking shows made me buy this. I have always admired these kitchen-aid mixers... but never thought I'd get THAT much use out of them. I watched a cooking show... where they made chocolate mousse. That was the last straw.
Now I can't say how glad I am that I got this! My cookie dough is done as fast as I can measure out the ingredients! I was too lazy to mix the dough well before... so I rarely made cookies. The first week this was home I made 3 batches of delicious cookies, an angel food cake, a meat loaf, mountians of whipped cream, and the chocolate mousse. Clean up is easy too. Plus this cool chrome-esque color looks awesome in my kitchen. Only now I'll have to join a gym.
