Great crystal bowl centerpiece - Classic and Elegant December 15, 2007

We purchased a couple Godinger Linear Crystal Bowls as gifts for friends and family this holiday season. The bowl itself is very pretty. It has a classic look and feel, but not so gaudy that it looks like someone's grandmother's crystal. The quality is also very good with a nice crystal shine. One thing I want to note is the size though. The first reviewer said that the bowl is "larger than I imagined" which is what I hoped for when I ordered these because the description shows it to be rather small. HOWEVER, the bowl is EXACTLY the size that is stated in the description, so I am not sure why it's larger than she expected. 8 inch diameter and 4.5 inch height. It is NOT very large at all, so if you have a larger dining table, it might not work as a centerpiece. I think for smaller dining tables or cocktail/coffee/end tables, this will look great. It might hold about 2-3 small oranges, but definitely not more than that. The best use might be some wrapped candy or after-dinner mints. Don't put open candy or food in there because it is LEAD crystal.

I ordered 3 of these to give as gifts. The bowl is 8.5" diameter and stands 4.75" tall. It's 24% lead crystal. I'm very happy with them. They are labeled as a candy dish or candle holder. Instructions state to "Wash one piece at a time by hand using warm soapy water and hand dry with a soft cloth. Never use any type of abrasive detergent; as this will dull the luster of your crystal." The packaging was fine and all 3 arrived intact.

I agree with the other review that this is a beautiful bowl at a super price. I ordered two and they came well packed with protective cushioning. I just added another order of 8 and will give these as holiday gifts.

This beautiful crystal bowl is so stunning I wish I had ordered more than one! It's also larger than I imagined and will make an impressive Christmas gift for a favortie teacher! I was shocked, however, that Amazon did not add any packaging materials to the box, but somehow the bowl arrived unscathed. Amazing!
