Got this product as a Christmas gift (2005). Used it every morning for breakfast, no problems, for about a week. I placed the removable parts in the dishwasher, top rack, a few times, like the instuctions noted. I began to notice a strange thing.

The coating material on the egg poaching dish begun cracking and peeling, exposing the bare metal. I contacted Back To Basics customer service, requesting a replacement dish, since I am afraid that the flaking coating is harmful to my health. I am still waiting for a reply from them.

It looks to be a non stick coating, but it is not. You have to coat the egg poaching dish with non-stick spray each time you use it. Perhaps they could have used a non-stick coating on the dish.

I have had no other problems with the product.

I bought this a few weeks ago, works just like it says and I could not be happier. I have two girls in the house 11 and 12 yrs old. I showed them how to use it and they love it. Great for quick breakfast if your running late. I would recommend this to anyone.

Someone obvioulsy spent a lot of time perfecting this thing. It does EXACTLY what the blurbs on the box claim. I've seen lots of gimmick appliances that fail to deliver. I've seen lots of name brand appliances that fail to deliver. This little machine has obvioulsy been reverse engineered from UFO alien technology--because not much made these days for a reasonable amount of money works as well as this.

Love our toaster so much, that I bought one for my husband's boss, and my Mom for Christmas. We all LOVE it!

My husband uses it every morning before work at 4am and then I turn around and use it again for the kids breakfasts. The only thing I wish is that it had multiple egg and toast cookers for larger families...but it still goes fast. I have no REAL complaint.

I read the directions once and pretty much that is it. Make sure to run the toaster through it's first initial run without food (per directions) so that you get rid of the plastic smell first.

It is simply amazing!

Usually if something sounds too good to be true, it is, But not this time ! This handy gadget really does make perfectly poached eggs and perfectly toasted English muffins in just minutes. Fresh, hot and ready in less time than it takes to feed the cat or squeeze a tall glass of fresh juice. I ordered this little marvel as a Christmas gift for myself on Christmas eve. It arrived today, Dec. 28th. I have already made perfect hard boiled (steamed) eggs and a great sausage egg muffin. Clean up is a breeze. Other than the need for a little caution when removing the cover of the steam chamber and the need to drain a small amount of condensation from the egg pan, things couldn't have been better. This will definitely be the gift of choice for friends this coming year.
