5 out of 5 stars Use the attachments   May 7, 2003

I am a single guy and I have had this mixer for about 5 years now. Believe it or not I use it all the time. It is the best mixer in the world. I have used it for all sorts of holiday gatherings. It is really good for mixing up egg whites for egg nog punch at Christmas.

The action you get with the mixer is great and mixes up anything like potatoes for twice baked potatoes. It's one mixing blade but it goes back and forth to some scientifically devised motion. I don't know what it is but it works great and anyone can use it.

My recommendation is to get the extra attachments. I have this book called the BBQ Bible and it had recipes that needed to have meat ground and sausages stuffed. The attachments are perfect for this. The best is all the attachments are easy to clean and dishwasher safe.

Try it out.

5 out of 5 stars This is a real luxury must have!!!   May 2, 2003

I've had mine for 2 years and just love it. I don't use it everyday, but when i do, it's so convenient. It's great because you can step away and not have to hang on to it while you're doing something else or getting more ingredients. Also, clean up is a snap and the multiple attachments make it a very versitle appliance. I usually make my mashed potatos in this. the size is just fine for everyday type stuff, but if you're into major cooking or have a very large family, you might want to go with the larger quart model with the arms that attach to the bowl. I reccommend this to anyone who cooks and to all the new brides out there. Also, another nice feature is it actually looks nice on the counter,so choose your color to match your kitchen. (i have a cobalt blue one)

5 out of 5 stars The Star of My Kitchen   May 2, 2003

This mixer is by far the best purchase I've ever made for my kitchen. It whips egg whites with ease, creates smooth creamy dressings, and takes the work out of kneading bread dough. However, my favorite part by far is the color, which draws comments from nearly everyone who enters my house. One caveat: the bowl is not big enough for the double batch of challah that I make each Friday, so I still end up kneading that the old fashioned way.

This is really a workhorse of a mixer. Amazing how much more you can get done when you are not having to mix everything manually. Bread dough has really turned out nice!

5 out of 5 stars Repost of Helpful Hint from Albuquerque   April 25, 2003

Someone posted this helpful hint back in September -- might help the most recent reviewer who complained about the ingredients at the bottom of the bowl.

-----> This may help some of you - I read a review somewhere in which the reviewer gave this mixer a poor rating because it left dry ingredients in the bottom of the bowl - read the instruction booklet, people. It clearly states that if this occurs (or if the attachments scrape the bowl), there is an adjustment screw that raises or lowers the mixing assembly. I had to slightly lower mine and it now incorporates everything into the mix.
