Humidifier Replacement Filter for 05518 February 25, 2006
This is the 2nd time I have ordered this product through Amazon.com. I have a Hamilton Beach humidifier and need the replacement filters for it to run efficiently. This filter works fine and does the job that I need done.

I am quite pleased with Amazon.com and the timely way that it gets product to the consumer. Thank you for that.

Filters and humidifier are great January 16, 2006

The filters last for 2-3 months for us. Simply add bacteriostatic treatment to the water in the tank. I get it at WalMart. It keeps bacteria from growing in the water. We've been using these for 3 years now, and have never had an issue with smell, algae, or mold. I love them!

The filters are fine. Those that bash them have a mold problem in their home. I bet if you looked behind the wall, you would find some incredible issues. If the humidifier is in a moldy environment, of course it will show more mold. We've used these for 2 years and have had minimal issues. They seem to hold up very well.

Just let it run until the filter is DRY and it will last February 9, 2005

If you leave the humidifer running after the tank has emptied until the filter is dry dry DRY (i.e., the humidity has dropped down), the filter will last and last. If you don't let it dry, but keep filling the tank with water, the filter gets really skanky really quickly. I learned the hard way until I read one of the reviews on this site. Have run it for over a month now with no smell. Filter is great.

I LOVE this humidifier because I can pop the parts in the dishwasher. I can get it CLEAN easily. Never found another humidifier that you can do this with.

Who cares if the humidistat works exactly? It tells me if the humidity is high or low, and that's all that matters.

It is indeed a BEAR to close the tank tightly, but we run it fine just closing it as tight as we can. Have never had a leakage problem.

Have tried many other kinds, and this does the job the best. Too bad it has been discontinued... I wanted to get one for my 87-year-old parents, since it is the easiest and best I have ever used.

Did they listen! January 29, 2005
Hamilton beach has ruined an expellant product the `TrueAir Cool Mist Humidifier' by making the replacement filters so badly.
A big disappointment, the filter gets moldy after a month of usage making the operation very expensive.
I hope they come up with a better solution.
I dont know what happend but the the latest filter has last all winter and still looks new.
