Well worth the $20 I got it on sale for. Makes delicious homemade icecream, slushies, sorbet, etc.

My first trial - the mix didn't freeze. But then, after putting the bowl in a colder freezer and making sure the ingredients were all VERY cold, I've had wonderful results.

My husband and I are both dairy intolerant and I have found that I can use coconut milk in place of milk and cream in recipes (one website said that this would work with any recipes). So far I have made coconut sorbet and banana ice cream using coconut milk (not the LITE). It's wonderful! I'm looking to buy coconut milk by the case, and converting all the ice cream recipes.

Also made a stunning strawberry/limeade sorbet. Looking forward to using the fresh fruit we are starting to harvest here in the San Joaquin Valley for all kinds of treats.

My bowl now stays in the freezer until I'm ready to use it.

i even almost broke it May 29, 2008
the second time i used this i forgot to insert the frozen cylinder before adding ingredients. i stood there watching as cream leaked onto the counter from around the cover before i realized what i had done. a good rinse and dry and it still works perfectly. oops.

The ice cream maker arrived very quickly. It was packaged in a quite plain box due to the fact it was reconditioned. The item was in perfect condition. It works better than I ever thought it could!! I read reviews that it was loud, but I found it is comparable to the noise my bread maker produces (not very loud). Anyways, it is only running about 30 minutes in a clip so whatever. I just keep the bowl in my freezer ready to go whenever I want great ice cream. My two sons love to help make the ice cream and eat it, so it was a great family time purchase.

Gave it away to someone who REALLY wanted one but this little puppy put out great quality ice cream within 1/2 an hour! You won't be sorry. Just buy an extra piece to keep in the freezer for those who want more than one kind!
