5 out of 5 stars Best Hand Mixer Ever!   August 15, 2008

This is the best hand mixer ever! I've had one for more than 10 years now and only the blades need an eventual replacement. Goes into the dishwasher, and is very cheap! I am buying my third one next week, as a gift to a friend. Sure bet!

5 out of 5 stars Best kitchen appliance   August 12, 2008

Just got my new Multimix today as a replacement for the Multimix I bought 14 years ago (1994) that finally gave out. I can't tell you how many batches of bread dough, cakes, salsa, and pesto (among other things) I have made with this highly versatile product. There's nothing else on the market that comes close for the price. Another big plus: it's NOT made in China. Thanks Amazon for carrying this product! Unfortunately, Procter & Gamble, which bought Gillette/Braun, seems to have plans to discontinue selling Braun applicances in the US. They should reconsider. I highly recommend any Braun product. I have a Braun coffeemaker and a shaver, too.

5 out of 5 stars Simple, well-designed, responsibly-manufactured mixer   August 10, 2008

I bought a Braun MR5550MBC Immersion Blender to replace my dying, crummy Black & Decker hand-held mixer. And while I really like the new gadget, it doesn't really do the two-bladed "mixer" thing (needed for things like mixing crepe/pancake batter). So it got an M880 as well, and I'm glad I did.

First, it's well-made yet inexpensive (I got it under $30). And unlike most other cheap -- and even expensive -- handheld mixers made in China, the M880 is made in Spain. This is important to me for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which is the use of safe materials and the labor issues... but that's another matter.

The mixer is lightweight and seemingly powerful enough for small jobs. (For large jobs, I use a KitchenAid bowl mixer - I love it, but it's too much fuss for a quick mix.) The M880 feels good in the hand, and the switch is conveniently located. The blades are tough, and easy to attach and remove. (Note that they're not symmetrical; make sure to match the symbols on the motor with the shapes of inserts.)

The downside is that the chopper bowl, the immersion blender (which I really didn't need), and the cup are all plastic (and the chopper bowl may leech Bisphenol-A). But the two mixing blades and the two kneading hooks are stainless steel, and that's all I really use anyway. (The immersion attachment that comes with my MR5550MBC is stainless steel, which I use in a large glass Mason jar - no plastic here.)

Aside from the accessories I didn't need, this is a great little mixer, one I'd easily recommend to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Great Item!   August 8, 2008
I love this item - I've had 2 in the past but they only lasted about 3 years each. Its the only chopper that chops my salsa the way I like it!

5 out of 5 stars mighty mixer   August 7, 2008

I love this little mixer and especially the attachments, and actually own two; one in a resort house. It is capable of doing any job I ask, and cuts food prep time significantly. The food processor part works beautifully in small batches, and the blender makes beverages and soups incredibly smooth. This is a winner!
