3 out of 5 stars 12-Quarts is really BIG!   August 23, 2007
4 out of 9 found this review helpful

I returned this pot not because I was disappointed with the quality (it's a lower class of all-clad product), but because of the size. It's HUGE! One needs a very large cabinet to store it. I never used it, but I can only imagine how heavy it would be once filled with water. If you work in a firehouse, cafeteria or on a military base---anywhere you need large batches of pasta, soup, chili, etc. then this is a great investment. If you have a normal size family of 4---it's just too much. It won't even fit under the faucet of my sink! Great looking and sturdy, but very big and as far as I can tell, this is the only size available in this caliber of All-Clad multi cookers.

5 out of 5 stars Multi cooker   June 27, 2007

Absolutely awesome, I have many pieces of All clad and was skeptical about it being only clad on the bottom but for it's intended use it is perfect and I have even made soup in it.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Product for a Good Price   February 6, 2007

I've been cooking with All-Clad for a little over 2 yrs., having finally replaced my much-used, much-beloved 30 yr. old set of Farberware. The difference is unbelievable, but the price of the "real" All-Clad pasta pots was a little rich. I took a chance on this pot, and I'm so glad I did. I've used it for pasta, stocks, and corn on the cob - it's wonderful. An added benefit, when making stocks, is that you can lift the aromatics right out of the broth when the stock is done - no draining and straining into another bowl. The pot is easy to clean, although it might be a tight fit for some dishwashers. It's worth every penny!

3 out of 5 stars Not Induction Compatible   January 7, 2006

I bought this item because it was rated as Induction compatible. It is not. At least I was able to return it.

4 out of 5 stars Not for for the meek of range (or weak of arm)   October 21, 2005

I should go to the gym more and I am reminded of this every time I use this pot. It is an excellent pot, but when filled, it is heavy. It also puts your range to the test. That's a lot of water to heat. This pot does not have the aluminum core and stainless steel heats very slowly.
As long as you plan in advance, it's not a problem.

I bought this pot because it was such a value over the smaller pasta pentola. Suprisingly, my best use for it is during the holidays when I brine turkey.

Update 1/7/07: This pot will not work on induction cooktops.
