If you're considering this piece, but concerned about the cost let me break it down for you...
-You'll look forward to cooking at home vs eating out which will pay for itself in a matter of weeks. Days if you are a family.
-You can save money and time by using many of the same ingredients two nights in a row while enjoying completely different meals if you plan properly. Carrots, celery, onions, parsley, etc. cassoulet last night, short ribs tonight!
-Prep time for most dishes is no more than 20 minutes, pop it in the oven and spend time enjoying your evening. An hour or so later a meal your family will love you for.
-Clean up is so incredibly easy. Almost anything no matter how bad it looks will literally melt away with a spray of warm water!!!
-The aroma of food cooking in this thing is like therapy after a hard day or on a cold night.
-It's a magic pot. I can't believe how many years I've wasted without this french oven in my life! My husband has raved over every dish prepared in my french oven and although he is the tightest wallet in town, agrees it's worth it's weight in gold.
-Oh, and speaking of weight...I find it manageable. I am 7 months pregnant and have no trouble lifting it when it is full.

nothing but the best results! October 1, 2007
I use this piece so often for either pork roasts or eye of the round. Not that it can't be used for just about anything!!

The secret for me is just keep it covered and let it be. Don't break the fabulous steam build up and it's like cooking in a pressure cooker. The tuffest cuts of meat are tender, sauces and gravies are far more rich and flavorful. This the best!!

The dutch oven was first quality, only the box was damaged and the price was almost 60% below what others charge.

Le Creuset is the only way to go! July 13, 2007
This is my first ever piece from Le Creuset and I am very pleased! Quality is unmatched and with a lifetime warranty you cant go wrong! This will be passed down for many generations to come. Very versitile, it stays on my stovetop and I use it alot during the week. Easy to clean after a quick soak! The price I paid here at amazon was very competitive. Its hard to find a great deal on the Le Creuset peices anywhere so with shipping it was comparable to everywhere else I searched. Highly recommend Le Creuset and Amazon.com!

My mother had been searching for a "pot roast pot" to give me for my birthday. She finally decided to spend the money on a Le Creuset because she knew it would last forever. This is by far the best gift i have ever been given. (Don't tell my boyfriend is said that:)...)I know it will be in my family forever. Not only is this pot durable, large enough to cook just about anything in, and easy to clean (just a soft sponge and warm soapy water)IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I have it in red and i display it out in my kitchen. It is perfect for roast and soups, and just about anything else. I even find myself looking for recipes to try so that i can use this pot! You cannot go wrong with this pot!
