2 out of 5 stars five crappy pieces   April 27, 2008
0 out of 1 found this review helpful

I bought two sets of these as a wedding gift because they looked lovely and also they were dishwasher safe and microwaveable. (so I will give them that) However, they were shipped unwrapped (in plastic), unprotected, and rather dingy in a box. They are what they are. If they are what they are what you are looking for, then they will suit your purposes. They were not something I would give as a gift and not even something I would bother keeping for myself. SO I returned them and then was a satisfied customer.

3 out of 5 stars Melamine - Wikipedia   March 31, 2008

While I love the design idea behind these measuring cups, I just wikipedia'd what "Melamine" was (the material these are made from) and was a little stunned, causing me to write this comment.

"Melamine is used combined with formaldehyde to produce melamine resin, a very durable thermosetting plastic"

While I'm sure the risk is nominal, why do I just feel uncomfortable putting any food item in a material partially created with formaldehyde?

:(

4 out of 5 stars Where's the 1/3 and 2/3 cup measure?   March 29, 2008

Handy alternative to the standard multi-cup measuring sets. Each prep bowl is divided into two measurements, for example, 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup.
The sizes are 1/8 and 1/4 c., 1/4 and 1/2 c., 1/2 and 1 c., 3/4 and 1 1/2 c., and 1 and 2 c. There is no 1/3 and 2/3 c. measure, which is a shame.

At first glance, you might not be convinced that the measuring line is in the right place. But, I verified that they were. The bowls stack neatly, and are light and strongly constructed.

A great prep aid.

Love these bowls nice when I can get things ready for my son to dump in the big bowl. Good quality and cleans easily

5 out of 5 stars very happy with my measuring bowls   February 10, 2008

I'm very happy with these bowls. I've had them for a couple of months now, and I use them _all_ the time. They're great prep bowls and measuring bowls, and I put them on the table to for condiments and fixings.
The bowls feel good in your hands. They are solid and sturdy and hold up to washing in the dishwasher.
Like another reviewer, I wish there was a 1/3-2/3 bowl, but maybe they just couldn't get another bowl to stack right. I've marked lines in two of my bowls to give me those measurements.
I'm getting my mom a set for her birthday and maybe another for me, too! They are well worth the price.
