5 out of 5 stars Stan's Review   December 21, 2007

For the money, I was very pleased with the item. One part of the base was slightly damaged but the sellar gave a very good response towards fixing the situation.

The tree is attractivfe and very easy to set up. It functions well and you even get a replacement bulb for the base that illuminates the fiber optic branch tips. The base comes with a color wheel built in and there is a second wheel that is black and white to use if you want the branch tips to turn on and off as white branches. I prefer color so I left the orginal plastic disk in place.

Altogether, this was a worthwhile purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Great Tree, Great Price   December 21, 2007

After being able to find no real trees this year (or at least not any that weren't a Charlie Brown tree) I decided to buy an artificial tree. I checked my local stores and found that some 5 feet artificial trees was selling for over $100! So I decided to check amazon. I chose this tree after reading the reviews and am glad that I did.
The set-up is very easy. There is a base with four legs that are easily slid into place. The base is where the fiber optic "machine" is and a replacement bulb and alternate color wheel are included (as are spare lightbulbs and a light tester, the tester was a nice surprise). The base also contains the on/off switch for the fiber optic part of the tree. Once the base's legs are attached, the bottom half of the tree slides easily into the base and the top half of the tree slides easily into that. I have to admit that at first I was a little disappointed and thought the tree looked sparse but once I started moving the easy to adjust branches, the tree filled out in no time. It looked really nice, even better than most of the $100+ trees I'd seen. The lights and fiber optics have their own separate plugs. So if you want to have only the fiber optics on or only the small lights you can. We put fewer ornaments on the tree than usual because the light and fiber optic combination made it look as though the tree had already been decorated.
Overall, I am very happy with how the tree looks. It is a great bargain and I think this tree will be great for years to come.

3 out of 5 stars O.K., but not spectacular.   December 20, 2007

I got the tree and it didn't look all that great in the box, but I thought, "Maybe it will look better once I get it together." I put it up and plugged it in and was disappointed to find that the fiber optics strands on the upper half of the tree didn't seem to light up, at all. I concluded that it was because the top half is almost four feet away from the light source. I spent about an hour bending the branches all around to try to make it look fuller, and finally decided that I hadn't really wanted that big of a tree anyways, and removed the top, and pulled two of the branches up and duct taped them to make a new, "top", for the angel to sit on, and then bent all the other branches inward to expose the fiber optic strands more, and gradually was able to get it to look like a kind of squat little tree that did had fiber optic strands lite uniformly all over. I am O.K. with the tree, but in all honesty, if it hadn't been going to cost me $40 to return it, which was going to leave my daughter, still without any tree, at all, and me with only about a $40 refund, at best, for it, I would have returned it. We decorated up my old fiber optic tree which is silver and only about three feet tall with diamond shaped lights from Ikea, for $9, and some beautiful shimmery garlands from the local craft shop, and it, actually turned out so pretty that I now do wish I hadn't even ordered this other tree to replace it when the fiber optics broke on it. When I had read so many "rave" reviews, I had expected it to be really nice. Kind of a disappointment. If I had known what it was like before I bought it, I wouldn't. And I would recommend to other people wanting one to go with a silver one. They really are a lot prettier.

5 out of 5 stars A great looking - innovative tree   December 16, 2007

I looked at trees at Sears and Big lots, didn't like anything much, so decided to look on Amazon. This tree had good reviews so just ordered it. Was a bit skeptical of how it will look since we can't see it before ordering it. But to my suprise, this is really good looking tree. The description doesnt stress enough but it has great fible optics, with a rotating disk, which changes the colors in fibre optics, white tips. I could not find any such tree in the stores.

You can use base lights & fiber optics lights or either of them. It just looks gorgous. With other lights deem it looks even more beautiful.. Assembly was very easy to do.. and Service from Merchantstock was amazing too.

Overall, very happy with this purchase, I think it compares with much more expensive trees.. So if you still into shopping this, you can use 2 day shipping and get it quicker.. Totally worth it .. :)

Happy holidays.

4 out of 5 stars Nice Tree   December 14, 2007

It is a good looking tree, but when it arrived one of the plastic posts on the tree base was totally broken off. Luckily the broken pieces were still in the box and I glued them back on the tree base. One disappointment is the top half of the tree fiber optics light source is really weak. The light is strong coming up through the bottom portion of the tree, but once you place the top portion of the tree on top of the bottom portion the light is really weak. It seems like the light is being partially blocked by the plastic cover on the bottom of the top portion of the tree. Any suggestions?
