5 out of 5 stars Awesome   September 17, 2008
BeerTender from Heineken and Krups B95 Home Beer-Tap System

This is definitely a novelty item and is not practical for the heavy beer drinker. That being said, I love this thing. I have read a few reviews stating the display does not work properly, all I can tell you is read your manual thoroughly. I will address some of the reviews I have read inaccurately claiming the display is not working. The temp control will read the temp of your beer incrementally 1 degree at a time until one of the preset temps is reached. Once a programable temp is reached the display will only show the programmable temps. So if you set this to 36 F when it reaches 42 F it will sit there until the next programed temp is reached (39 F) and so on. So the display is not broken. Also when inserting a new keg, hold the C buttton down for a second to reset the scale otherwise your display may blink that you have an empty keg when you just inserted a full one. Hope this helps. Very handsome appliance as well.

1 out of 5 stars Piece of Junk   September 16, 2008

I just received this unit. I already had a keg that was 3/4 full in my $14k Sub Zero fridge set at 38 degrees. I was getting perfect pours from the fridge on this keg. I then popped off the plastic tap devide and inserted it into my Beertender, and let it sit for 2 hours while the temp came down. After 4 hours it still wont go below 39 degrees. My room temp is 78 degrees, and not in direct sunlight. I just wasted half a keg pouring foam.....remember I was getting perfect pours with the stock tap. I called cust service, I was told that my room was too warm! So basically I need to turn my home into a meat locker so this piece of junk can cool to the temp selected on the face. I'm returning it, and just putting the keg back into the fridge.

3 out of 5 stars Poor Pour   September 16, 2008
I have one of these B-95 units. It is a first class item.. BUT after 7 mini-kegs of beer, I have found I can't get a decent pour until the last two glasses of brew. All the rest are 85% foam. I have purchased a kegerator now and love it!! (keg of Newcastle Brown Ale currently on tap)Pours a perfect head every time -- to clean the beer lines is a snap!! I will not use my Beer Tender any more.

1 out of 5 stars SIZE OF Heineken DraughtKeg   September 4, 2008
1 out of 4 found this review helpful

CAN SOMEBODY INFORM ME WHAT SIZE SHOULD BE THE HEINEKEN DRAUGHTKEG????
I DON'T SEE IT IN THE DESCRIPTION.

I LIVE IN ITALY AND BEFORE PURCHASING THIS ITEM, I WANT TO VERIFY IF THE RIGHT SIZE DRAUGHTKEG ARE SOLD HERE!!! OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE A BIG WASTE OF MONEY.

WE HAVE THE 5 LITERS ONE, BUT THEY ARE PROBABLY TOO BIG.

4 out of 5 stars Nothing like real "Tap Beer"   September 3, 2008
I have had my BeerTender for 2 months and love pouring a tall cool one into a frosted beer glass. It is easy to set up and even easier to use. Be careful when unpacking that you don't throw away the chrome spout by accident. I almost missed it in the bottom of the box. I set the tempature at 36 degrees (choices are 36, 39,42) and it holds that tempature perfectly. Be sure to rinse the frozen glass just before pouring; then tilt to a 45 degree angle and you will get a perfect three quarter inch head. Enjoy.....I certainly do.
