5 out of 5 stars Great shaker   August 15, 2007
Solid construction, does what it is supposed to do. Very sleek looking and makes a great gift.

5 out of 5 stars Own my own and always give as a gift   June 6, 2007

I have owned this shaker for a few years and LOVE IT! I also give it to friends as a housewarming present, so I've spread the word many times over. In fact, people now know that if I'm invited to a housewarming, they're going to get this as a gift.

The design is simple and elegant, just like the cocktails that come out of it. Doesn't show fingerprints or scratches, and I use it frequently (cheers!) so it's not just sitting on a shelf looking good.

As for the comments that it's hard to get the shaker top off, yes and no. As you shake it, it does chill down a lot, and of course the metal tends to contract and tighten. My solution? Twist off the cap, which releases the pressure inside, put the cap back on and give it a quick push! The pressure slightly pops up the shaker lid and people are further impressed with your bartender skills. Lots of oooohs and ahhhhs.

It's sleek looking & a great entertaining size. Very attractive & modern. But, unlike the other reviews, I find this shaker spills alot from the body slot. It also leaves rings on furniture if any liquid is inside because there is no slip-mat attached to the bottom. Personally, I feel it's very over-priced when considering the down-sides. Honestly, I would not buy again... the cheaper versions are just as good. Try one of them first...

When I first took the shaker out, it was a little bigger than I expected. But I quickly realized this is a good size for 2-4 martinis. I use it all time. It becomes very cold on the outside when you shake it but I guess that's the trade-off for the cool sleek look. Love the polished silver! It's also very easy to clean.

5 out of 5 stars great shaker   February 16, 2007
got this a year ago while i was in college, where pretty much every weekend i had a 3-5 ppl over for drinks. the shaker is excellent. looks great and doesnt leak one bit. a nice frost will form on the outside as you shake (but your fingers will be freezing!) don't use large ice cubes though, if you shake vigorously you could put a small dent in the strainer. also, i dropped this once and it bent the opening for the cup so that it wasn't exactly circular (very slight, was using it that way for awhile..) but i carefully pushed it back and once again it fits together perfectly. i also scratched the bottom of the cup using a bar spoon to muddle instead of the stubbly little piece of rubber on the other side, so if you want you shaker to look perfect both inside and out don't be lazy like i was.
