5 out of 5 stars Fabulous little machine   August 10, 2007
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

I bought this rice cooker to make steel cut oats (I'm on a low glycemic index diet, but don't have time to stand over the stove stirring oats for an hour!). It does a fabulous job at making small or large servings of oats. It is also ideal for cooking rice and other grains. I have been using my Zojirushi daily for the last year with no problems at all. This is the second one I've bought as a gift.

5 out of 5 stars A great little machine   July 15, 2007

I've been cooking rice for years on a dinosaur. This one's easy to use and just plain solid. I've seen some newer models come along, and the styles look better, but I can't imagine their functionality is any better. If I was really frivolous, I would buy another of the top rated Zojirushi, just for styling.

5 out of 5 stars Makes great brown rice   June 20, 2007

We love our rice maker. I wouldn't bother with a rice maker for white rice as I am usually in the kitchen for 20 mintues making dinner, but brown rice is another matter. I do not spend an hour in the kitchen making dinner and my brown rice would suffer. This rice maker makes perfect rice every time and keeps it hot. Its a nice size for 2 people. The cord retracts and it has a handle for easy storage. Pricey, but worth it.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Rice, everytime!   June 18, 2007

coming from an asian country, I cannot live without rice. 90% of my dishes requires rice. I had some cheap ricecookers before and after a couple of month, they just wont cook right.I'm very picky about cooked rice, so when it failed, I just cant eat. Then my mom told me to buy this one, Zojirushi NS-KCC05, it's perfect! I was worried because usually appliances this small do not perform as well as the big ones. But I have had this for about 5 years now, it's still works as well as the first day I got it. It took a little bit longer to cook than other brand, but rice is never too dry, too wet, too smushy, or anything like that. It's just perfect. I can leave it for hours and it's still great. No burn on the bottom!!

5 out of 5 stars Worth the price   May 29, 2007

Fantastic. I've had this machine for over a month, and used it every day. It's never failed to turn out perfect rice every time, using a range of rices from jasmine to sushi. Easy to use (you can rinse your rice in the same bowl used for cooking it, then just fill it with water to the line for how much rice you used), easy to clean, and easy to store. It seems like Zojirushi actually spent their time figuring out how to make their products better, instead of how to make them more cheaply. If you like rice, and have as much trouble making great rice on the stove as I do, this thing is worth every penny.
