4 out of 5 stars all clad 12 inch fry pan   December 18, 2007

Overall it's a great fry pan, heats pretty evenly, cooks real nice and is oven ready. The handle could have been more oven glove friendly. You get the feeling it wants to flip unless you jamb a thumb into the top. If I had it to do again, I'd look closer at the less than $100 pans.
As usual, Amazon has the best sources.

When cooking eggs add a little butter or Margarine to the cooking oil. This will solve all the sticking problems.

It is perfect for cooking but hard for cleaning because of its size. Standard size sinks and stove tops are not large enough to accomodate with ease, but it is worth the trade off when cooking. I also recomment the lid it is excellent for many uses. Why would you want this pan without a lid?

Great pan as advertised, even cooking and great browing capabilites. We bought the lid later and it can cook on low heat very well win you want to saute

5 out of 5 stars Top quality stuff   August 3, 2007

As a stingy person by nature, spending $700 on a set of pots and pans is a real issue for me. As I've gotten older though, it has become painfully obvious that to find high quality goods these days you really need to spend a lot of money. All-Clad hits that mark. I just retired a set of Calphalon non-stick cookware, they are right now at a garage sale and might bring in $25. After about 6 years, non-stick surface on the 1-qt,2-qt and 10-inch fry pan were starting to seriously deteriorate, the non-stick retained smell of some foods(eggs/onions/etc) regardless of vigorous washing, and at least one pan just failed to be non-sticky.

After a few days cooking with All-Clad, I'm amazed. I have fewer problems with sticking than I did with my "non-stick" pans, they seem to heat faster, and they no doubt heat far more evenly. After making eggs for the first time I was shocked at the difference. After making pancakes for the first time, my wife called me at work in slight shock at how evenly they cooked.

On top of all of this, if I decide I don't want them, I can probably resell at 70-80% of retail. Not bad in my book.
