Replacement beaker April 15, 2008
Glass beaker works the same as the old one. I just wish there was somehow they could make the glass a little bit more thicker and durable. They break to easily and I am sure if it tap this one the wrong way in the sink while washing it will break too.

I bought this as a replacement for a broken beaker from a coffee press of another brand (L'aroma), and was pleased to see that it fit perfectly.

I bought my original french press at a thrift store for $1.25. Sure, it was a little worn, but the price was right! After a few months' use, disaster struck when a plastic ladle fell on the carafe. The replacement price at Amazon was the best I found, and I knew it would come quickly and safely. The instructions for how to change out the carafe were clear, and imagine my delight when I saw that this pot had the serving water level on the side. I suppose it had rubbed off of the old one. There were also instructions on using the carafe, which were welcome since I had simply winged it before. Even though I had to replace the carafe, I still have a very inexpensive french press.

Beautiful piece of glass February 16, 2008

This is a beautiful piece of glass and a great replacement for the price. Way cheaper then buying a new French-press and probably a nicer piece of glass than you got with the original bodum you bought 5 years ago before tragically breaking it while doing the dishes... This is a great replacement product. If you have the kind of bodum that uses screws make sure you have the super tiny eyeglasses sized screw driver to remount this...

Its nice to get a replacement for the Bodum carafe, however, they seem to be very fragile and break very easily in the sink. I've broken 2 in the past 6 months. I think I will buy a completely new french press from a different brand if this one breaks as well!
