4 out of 5 stars Great   August 7, 2008

I'm a beginner at making bread so I'm not sure if the issues I'm having are my fault or not. Regardless the machine works great. The receipts suggestions in the book are not too great.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   August 6, 2008

I purchased this bread machine because of all the favorable reviews and I must agree that the machine does a great job. Time will tell how durable it is. One reviewer was bothered by the beep, can not be turned off, but I didn't find it objectionable. Another reviewer mentioned the removable baking pan warping but I have not found any problems with the pan. I do have a comment about the recommended method for yeast to be added. The receipe book suggests that the yeast be placed on the top of the flour so as not to touch the liquid. I found that I get better results if I mix the yeast with warm water and let it sit for a few minutes and then adding it to the bake pan and then adding the rest of the ingredents. I would not recommend this method if the delay timer is used however. The Zojirushi method should be followed if the delay time is used. Over all, a great product.

1 out of 5 stars NOT WORTH THE MONEY!   August 2, 2008
This is my third bread machine. Without a doubt, the Zojirushi is the worst of the three. The crust is always way too hard and tough, no matter what recipe I use. The top is often very uneven. And there is a lot of unmixed ingredients stuck to the side of the bread. I tried to cut down the baking time to eliminate the hard crust, but to no avail. I can't believe how much this machine costs. The Panasonic is a much better machine.

4 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS MACHINE   August 1, 2008

I wanted to take some time out of the kneading and rising by hand process and simplify things a bit. This machine works great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bread is still better if you take the dough out after the rising and kneading process and form it and bake it in the oven. It is not bad baked in the machine, better than store bought, but it is a bit more dense and the crust is a bit more hard than I would like. In a pinch, I still let it bake. I've set the machine's homemade setting to do french bread and it has turned out great (I do take out the dough and form baguettes for that). Still experimenting and plan to try the jam and meatloaf settings. So far, easy to use, directions are easy to follow and give many options, and machine has worked flawlessly (knocking on wood).

1 out of 5 stars A huge disappointment   July 11, 2008

Until recently I used the more expensive Breadman machines, but after reading many positive reviews of this top-rated Zojirushi machine, I bought one. I've never been more disappointed. The 1 1/2 lb setting produced three distinct clumps of dough, the 2 lb fruit and nut setting failed to integrate either my chopped pecans or my raisins, leaving them strewn along the bottom of the bread, the whole wheat recipes from my trusted bread machine recipe books overwhelmed its paddles. This machine has been a disasterZojirushi BBCCX20 Home Bakery Supreme Bread Machine
