4 out of 5 stars Cornbread-wedge   February 10, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I'm just a old country girl...
Lodge cast iron in my kind of cookware. However, I don't mind saying
I was a little taken-aback when I received this skillet.
My only concern is it isn't as deep as I thought it would be. (not in description)
Well, I used it ...it's alright. makes "cute" cornbread wedges.
Be sure to oil your skillet well...I can be a duzzie to clean.
I use a plastic brush, this helps
Enjoy..

5 out of 5 stars A Widely Useful Pan for Quick Breads   February 2, 2008
This segmented cast-iron pan is wonderful, not only for cornbread but equally for any kind of quick bread such as scones, shortcake, and especially for quick breads made with non-traditional flours (whole grain, almond, etc.). The pre-seasoned surface browns each wedge nicely on all sides, and wedges come out easily leaving the pan clean for quick washing. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars working well...but really heavy and small   January 31, 2008
I bought this as a scone pan. It works well to bake scones.
However, it is really heavy to handle and the size of wedge is a bit smaller than I wanted.

4 out of 5 stars my son-in-laws- loved this   January 3, 2008
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 2 son in laws. They loved it, when they figured out what it was. I give a 4 star only because they haven't used it yet!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Instant family heirloom.   January 2, 2008
Lodge cast iron is awesome. It's like quality leather: if you care for it properly, it just gets better with age. This pan really isn't much of a multi-tasker, but it makes yummy cornbread and is a must have if you enjoy the crusty crust all the way around. If you'd rather have a cut edge on your cornbread wedges, just pour it in a preheated 10" skillet and make one big piece for slicing.
